High Elf Allied Race Megathread (Continuation)

actually he was. them going to northrend was the test to show they actually supported the horde. if they didnt go sylvanas would withdraw the forsaken

Wonderful, letā€™s go with this.

BEā€™s make up 90% of the population, HEā€™s make up 10%. They become playable, their story reflects this. The problem?

He was blackmailed into going to Northrend? Doth thou even WoW?

That 10% has been stated by Bliz as not enough to be considered an actual race.

IN B4 ā€˜population isnā€™t really the issue hereā€™.
Looks up to the post that beat her by seconds

Looks at Void Elves.

Coughs and shuffles uncomfortably on the spot.

Shifty eye glances.

Which isnā€™t accurate, no matter who says it, owing to Void Elves existing. Soā€¦ :man_shrugging:

No one is asking for Millions of high elves hiding in the woodsā€¦ thatā€™s ridiculous.

There is a group that could be selected as playable because the group that was selected as Void elves was so small to begin with. Population numbers do not matter.

Sigh. Read what I wrote about Void Elves. Itā€™s not the same thing.

There has never been one number released of ā€œthis is how many Void Elves were created in the ritual.ā€ Itā€™s not the same thing. The High Elf numbers are clearly defined ā€¦ and that number isnā€™t large enough as they currently exist for Bliz to consider them a playable race option.

ā€œThis group canā€™t have a small population, because they canā€™t.ā€
ā€œThis group can have a small population, because they can.ā€

10/10, would read again, Aedred.

Except it is. All of the Allied Races that are playable, whether theyā€™re a whole nation, or a small collective, are perfectly viable as a playable race. And this can including further races over time too, including High Elves.

HAVE the High Elvesā€™ numbers ever been clearly defined, though? From what Iā€™ve seen in the lore, whenever a player race or ā€¦any race really, goes through some kind of extinction level loss, itā€™s always denoted as a high percentage which ā€¦while definitely capable of looking quite huge, doesnā€™t actually give definitive numbers. Which is probably for the best, to be honest.

Void elves.

Panderan, hiding on a WHOLE BLOODY CONTINENT FOR 10000 YEARS.

Worgen; from a few NPCmobs 'Sins of Arguel to an entire nation that gets a disease.
And so onā€¦

Blizzard says whatever it wants to, whenever and for whatever ā€˜ā€˜reasonā€™ā€™.
ā€˜Loreā€™? Whatever they say it is at the moment.

Look. I get it: you want them playable. Hell, Iā€™d play them too probably.

You still need to come up something concrete and viable to counter Blizā€™s population-opinion on them and thereā€™s nothing anyone has presented other than the echo chamber of ā€œpopulation doesnā€™t matterā€ over and over again.

It does matter. Bliz THINKS it matters and in the decision whether or not they become playable BLIZā€™S OPINION matters.

You guys need to really go at this if you want it bad enough because while the ideas and art are absolutely great, thereā€™s nothing in this thread that explains why they should be playable other than ā€œbut I want them!ā€

Vulpera, Sethrak, Mechagnomes, Gilgoblins, and Ankoan are doing WAY more in the game right now than High Elves. A portal keeper, 2 shielding mages, and Alleria handing out upgrades on a boat does not seem like Bliz thinks High Elves are all that important to the story.

Did you read the OP? We canā€™t literally write the story for Blizzard.

while low population is a factor, you guys cant keep strawmanning it as the only factor. if there is one thing that disqualifies a race from becoming an AR, it is already being playable

The same old worthless deflect.
ā€˜ā€˜you do this, so youā€™re wrong!ā€™ā€™
ā€˜Well you do it too!ā€™ā€™

ā€˜ā€˜THATS NOT THE SAME THINGā€™ā€™ ; every sjw who ever lived.

Cā€™mon Aed; you can do better than that!

Again, speaking for Blizzard; which btw you have no right to do.
Besides, which ths Alliance High Elf WAS made playableā€¦In WC2. We certainly could grind them out there!
I remember having whole troops of them; slaughtering Horde invaders by the thousands!

Thatā€™s the thing though. They already have, numerous times. Hell, even before all the expansions that came after, they already did this with the Gnomes. And then they did it again with the Blood Elves, and the Draenei.

Ultimately, they can make up whatever they wish when it comes to Allied Races or new playable races in general. Seriously, they could make Dark Trolls a playable race some day simply be unveiling a hidden subterranean city where theyā€™ve quietly rebuilt all this time and itā€™d ā€¦just work.

Even when the things they do with their Lore donā€™t really work they still kind of work. Itā€™s weird, but ā€¦itā€™s just how Blizzard rolls.

Then youā€™re leaving it up to Bliz to write the story ā€¦ and they have. High Elves are the remnants of race that Bliz doesnā€™t consider to be worthy of being playable.

End Thread. Shut down. Move on.

I donā€™t see you telling the nelf who rps a viking this.
