Which unit is that in WC3???
They had a living Sylvanas model in game. Lots of custom games let you choose it. It was like the Black Ranger but living.
I just looked it up, it looks awesome. Sucks we didnât get units like this for Humans, but I guess it makes sense with Arthasâ pity party being half the plot of it.
Apparently it was planned to be used in the beginning but they scrapped it.
edit: anyone seen the new hero models they put out for reforged? looks great!
I am not sure if I would want to play reforged, since its a rehash of WC3. Nostalgia is justâŠehhhh.
im tired of rehashes I want new stuff.
Can I has your very very stupid gold before you ragequit bro?
Nope; part of science.
Like âraceâ.
So?
Same race/species does not always mean same behavior, beliefs, style etc.
Or do I have to start whistling Dixie again?
What makes them say âgoâ for one team instead of the other, IS the determining culture.
Just ask Messers. Mason and Dixon.
Race is both biological and social. Weâre all of the human race but were not all hispanic, asian, white, etc.
Everywhere, actually and only when you admit their existence at all.
ââTimes changeââ
âa former warchief.
What do a couple of surveyors have to do with culture?
What?
Science literally disagrees with you and declares it a social construct.
Race is not a part of them.
That would be culture, which blood elves and high elves share, as they are the same generation
MmmâŠnoâŠpolitical differences are usually the result of more complex matters.
Given all high elves stem from silvermoon, the slight differences are not due to cultural differences.
human race is species.
Race, which is that of caucasian and hispanics are considered social in structure.
Not disagreeing with you, clarifying for better understanding for those reading.
The overwhelming majority of those against playable High Elves rarely, if at all, weigh in on the few popular conceptualizations which go out of their way to distinguish High Elves from Blood Elves (i.e. âStorm Elvesâ or âSilver Elvesâ).
Itâs quite easy to disagree with a premise, that being playable High Elves, if youâre not looking at the conceptualizations that are most popular among the fans â and instead are basing all opinions on the most aesthetically unexplored option imaginable (i.e. Silver Covenant).
That is primarily due to the ancient architecture that is used in WoW. Furthermore, many of the suggestions which are offered to differentiate high elves, are already existing in the blood elf race.
The notion of a ranger based look?
Farstriders. The original ranger group for the high elf race which chose by a mass majority to remain with blood elves.
So it becomes a matter of where these suggestions could be applied to blood elves in every form, and any differentiation to completely break free ends up in the creation of a race that is no longer high elf in origin. It then becomes a title and nothing more
I see almost all of those conceptualizations which go out of their way to distinguish them as hypocritical.
When high elves are asked for, Lore Purism is pushed. Its focused on, and if you try to derail, you are always brought back to Lore Purism.
Now suddenly for these conceptualizations lore does matter. It can just be made up.
I just find itâŠirksomeâŠhow often Lore matters. Until it suddenly doesnât.
Void Elves? Horrible because they had no in game lore.
High Elves? Well, its no big deal. We can make up new lore to compensate for anything that doesnât make sense. Or to make them different.
I just finished looking and there is NO journal called âevery academicâ.
The scientific community as a whole also does not exist as a single entity nor are they united save in one area;
Knocking the wind outta the sails of purported ârepsâ who go around making fake claims.
Links please.
Take a moment to go and check out the concept fanart, especially the OPâs. Are you then going to seriously TRY to tell mea nd everyone else that those BRAWNY HAWT HUNKS are look no diff then a mana sucking stick?
WowâŠ
RightâŠwellâŠclearly you are an expert on the matter and practice in some form of scientific research on the matter.
and why wouldnt blood elves have similar appearances if they have the same culture as high elves lore wise?
No, this is not true. Silver Covenant Elves and the High Elves in the Alliance area within Dalaran are unfriendly to Horde players. They even kick you out of there if you, as a Horde player, try to enter.
So much for their neutrality.
Game play focuses on the player character according to faction, not race. Lore wise, it would not be unusual if some high elves were friendly to their blood elven people but were not so friendly to orcs or trolls.
let us not rely on gameplay for lore discussion.
