And here, I think, is the pivot point around which a reasonable story arc for High Elf unification could be built. Back to the Windrunners again, and back to their Ranger General giving the Dalaran High Council the same choice Tyrande gave Anduin; confronted with some existential threat to their fellow High Elves from the Horde and being told they have to stay out of it could well result in “help us or we’ll do it ourselves” followed by the Silver Covenant withdrawing from Dalaran.

Yeah we get it. They are biologically the same people.

not true. i feel bad for kael’thas as a lore character. i feel bad for the blood elves, not only because they lost so many loved ones but thought joining their enemies, was their only recourse. as a story race, their story is sad.

I could see something like that. Though I’d prefer they stay in Dalaran, and for Dalaran to just stop pretending they’re neutral when what they actually are is independent.

The entire foundational purpose for the Silver Covenant was to oppose the Blood Elves, specifically, from being allowed access to the SC’s home (Dalaran). They’re absolutely anti-Blood Elf, and typically anti-Horde.

So neutral, definitely don’t support the alliance to this day, oh wait that’s not what that says at all!

I feel like you all would be happier if you just played a blood elf and used blue transmogs.

Id rather play an Alliance High Elf and wear red transmogs. Get some green goggles. Thatll complete the look.

i argue that they are different. not much, but they are, because:

  1. no effects from fel (though a case could be made that anyone who spent time in tbc shadowmoon valley should be green from head to toe)

  2. being separated from elven culture, different diet means you develop biological differences. though mostly as regards weight or acne or maladies

  3. different level of access to magic. they should be thinner.

Just roll a void elf then.

In the RPG it said Blood Elves had altered height due to the different magic energies twisting their bodies. But thats not canon so we cant use it =\

i’m not though.

Um, are you implying that your particular style of RP overwrites the actual lore of the franchise? :man_shrugging:

Id rather make my Alliance High Elf, when they get added, look like a Blood Elf. I can be like Valeera.

i thought she was saying anyone who supports playable alliance high elves, is rabidly anti-horde and anti-belf, particularly.

I just imagined this and I laughed so dang hard.
The thing is because of the way WoW treats aesthetics, if you were to warp a high elf so dramatically it would no longer be a high elf. The game doesn’t allow differentiation of such a degree without requiting them to be a whole new mode/skeleton.
They wouldn’t be the high elves everyone claims to know and love, and I believe this may be the primary reason blizzard never implemented them.
Certainly there are some who say they would accept a modified version, but if I wanted high elves available, why would I want them modified from the race I came to like back in WC2 and WC3?

Not saying I disagree with the notion in its basis, but under the context of the game’s design.

Alliance high elves do exist. They’re called Void Elves.

they oppose the blood elves coming with the horde being admitted into the kirin tor and view the newfound relationship of the sunreavers with the horde as betrayal by their kin and establish a safe space for the alliance in dalaran. they are there to show the divide of the high elf people of dalaran specifically the sunreaevers/silver covenant. as the sunreavers follow the horde and help them in northrend in the campaign against the LK, the SC help the alliance in the same way. it is not an accident if you go to the argent tournament where they are stationed staring down the sunreavers at the entrance

blizzard thinking they have a cool story prop to use, use them as they see fit when dalaran is in play in the story and thats it. and its almost always in oppostion of the sunreavers. if you want to put more into that its your fanfictions

Theyre actually Alliance Blood Elves.

they share the exact same high/blood elf model and lore, they are technically alliance high elves
