High Elf Allied Race Megathread (Continuation)

You do realize those same blood elves are from TBC era, where they never took a single offensive action against the alliance and were largely focusing on saving their people?

Because the lore is more important than the aesthetics. If they need an altered model to differentiate them from belves, that’s fine because we’d at least get to finally play them.

I don’t think that’s happening until Khadgar no longer leads the Kirin Tor, Fyorsing. He was unambiguous at the end of Legion that he - and by extension Dalaran - would not raise his hand against either side. I suppose he could be outvoted by the Council - as Jaina was over re-admitting Blood Elves, but then you risk the same bad writing that had Jaina poutcrash out of Dalaran do the same thing with him.

Eh. Yeah no. Blood Elves dont consider themselves High Elves anymore. Void Elves were former Blood Elves so they believe they arent High Elves as well. So that means they arent Alliance High Elves.

They can say what they want all day, but until reflected in game or novel it’s just words.

For example if Ion came out tomorrow and said the gnomes haves regained control of gnomeregon
it’s not true until reflected in game or book.

It’s just words my friend.

That is the thing though, you can’t just break the two apart.
If the lore matters, then what is the problem with void elves? Their lore has them as blood elves from the TBC era, who never worked against the alliance in any single facet. The only thing they did was rename themselves blood elves briefly to honor their dead, and then look for ways to protect the re-ignited sunwell.
They are literally the high elves who went back to their alliance allies before ever acting in a Horde capacity.

Am i not correct? They were exiled during TBC no?

Woaaaaah that is not necessarily true. You can’t disregard devs like that, they do design the game and implement storyline. Sort of like how everyone is going “OMG SYLVANAS IS A JERK!”, and Metzen literally said “She’s always been that way.”

‘no plans for now’ the only words you seem to care about are also ‘just words’

That’s true too. No plans for now is truely just words, which is why this thread exists

its actually a platitude. anyone with 2 eyes and a breath can see that

Platitude

A platitude is a trite, meaningless, or prosaic statement, generally directed at quelling social, emotional, or cognitive unease.

And the words “WoW will never have playable Alliance High Elves” will never be officially said - and certainly not that bluntly.

but if game and lore is all that matters this topic would not exist because void elves give some of that fantasy.

Who are therefor Alliance High Elves, because Blood Elves are high elves.

Of course they design the game and story line, but until they implement their spoken words then it is what it is.

In a public setting JK Rowling, Tolkien or whomever is writing fiction can make their comments and give insight, but it’s at no official capacity until they have it in a book.

Especially with as many hands that this story exchanges through, we can’t take everything they say as gospel.

It doesn’t say when. Not to my knowledge anyway.

But they are poorly done, have no interesting story, and even if they weren’t out attacking the alliance they still aren’t the ones that stayed and remained loyal. They were fine with drawing mana from creatures and then turned to the void, which is more extreme.

Aesthetically they are blue/purple with tentacles globbed in their hair.

I want to be a high elf ranger from quel’danil, not shadow priests, the race.

Blood Elves are written by Blizzard to say they do not consider themselves High Elves. So if Blizzard already wrote that, and they make it that way in the game where Blood Elves and High Elves are separate peoples, Then Blood Elves are not High Elves.

someone in the thread argued that void elves aren’t biologically high elf anymore. we’re like a new race. we use to be blood elves who are high elves. now we are neither. we’re creatures from the void.

Haha thats true someone does try and make that arguement. But if Void Elves arent Elves anymore, why do they use the term " 'dorei" as part of their name? They still seem to recognize themselves as Elves.

they shoulda went a bit farther and gave us ethereal wrappings and stuff.

This is my absolute expectation lol
It is what it is unfortunately, we will see with the story line moving forward.

We still have the Sylvanas sisters crossroads that they set up pre BFA.

I would get more of a feel at their truest intentions at the direction of that story.

good point. if they were still blood elves, and considered themselves blood elves, they would use sin instead of ren
