High Elf Allied Race Megathread (Continuation)

i’d rather thrall have married jaina than G0’EL GO’EL GO’EL!!!

Definitely was a valid military target. I agree, doesnt discount the fact of how angry Jaina was after that after being one of the more sympathetic alliance members towards the horde. So a switch flipped an bammo, light em up. lol but if we want to really get into whats bad there are countless more worse examples than that. but this isnt the thread to discuss such unpleasant matter.

the mana bomb toy has like a 3m cd. :stuck_out_tongue:

Pretend someone else did it

No, I am.

too mnay times we pine away or have unrealistic expectations.
Ever seen that Darth Vader graphic story where this nurse goes completely nutz and has all sortsa romantic fantasies about the Deep Breather?
Kinda like that.

there’s a way to make it work well but it needs retcons and lore additions, in conjunction with the replacement of all alliance high elf models, with half elf models instead. the big issue are cutscenes, such as when elisande address tyrande, liadrin and veressa, since its forever captured in time that veressa and company look like high elves.

hear me out though: elisande claims veressa and the silver covenant high elves have diluted their bloodlines (et.al, from mating with humans), yet not one elf present looks like a half elf. this could be rectified for everything but the cutscene.

in other words, the bulk of the silver covenant models could be half elves, since they’ve had a few generations mingling with humans. then what elisande said about them will actually be demonstrated in the game world. they still keep silver covenant lore, they’re still elves, etc

you cant change the way alliance high elves look because they are physically, culturally and thematically identical to blood elves

Elisande is a trashtalker that is finally in the damn grave.

There hasn’t been ‘generations’. Since que fall of Quel’thalas maybe 20 years happened, and that’s from the top of my head.

Half-Elf children are rare to see, is not normal. And doing what you say gord against lore and logic.

Why would the High elves start to bang and pound exclusively with humans?

Resume: High elves don’t require a retcon, Half-Elves do.

you can if you actually make them fit the ingame events, such as elisande claiming they had diluted their bloodlines. diluted them with what? humans. thats what.

and thus cant be used.
Enter half elves here

they were in dalaran since before the fall of quel’thalas. the sunreavers were there. they just werent confronted with the decision of what side they would end up on yet. there wasnt a sc yet. and they would’ve been the most likely to want to stay with the humans on the alliance, rather than follow kael’thas because their spouses and children were there.

half elf children are only rare because they haven’t been added to the game. it could be that most sc today, are half elven. would require retcons and lore additions, as i said.

Oh right it was you the one who made that list of things High elves don’t have.

Hey, if they don’t have all these Blood elf things… How are they ‘physically, culturally and thematically identical to blood elves’?

It’z a biggie mistewy, uwu, pwease elabowate

I think maybe they havent neccessarily diluted their blood lines completely. Maybe its more of an attitude thing, their culture, and language may be more geared towards humans than just thalassian now. So they have Thalassian roots, and heavy culture influence but with some human, or dwarf or draenei in some cases mixed in.

This is why a different idle stance works, maybe the food they eat is different, so maybe different body style from the way they are living. It all works in this regard.

We are told they are rare. We don’t see as many of them. And we would know.

It’s just against the lore to simply have a boom of Half-Elves out of nothing.

there are some helfers that just want a peach blonde elf model on alliance. they are okay with half elves. the rest want the lore from the actual helves and want a modified belf instead.

oh its simple really the alliance high elves can really only be defined by the things they did after they split off from the blood elves, which is minuscule to say the least as they have lived together for over 7000 years until very recently

So they aren’t ‘physically, culturally and thematically identical to blood elves’.

well it does solve several problems:

  1. it explains why kalecgos shows up as a half elf when there are no half elves visible in the game other than arator.

  2. it allows us to make a slightly modified thalassian, perhaps with shorter ears, a different stance, and so on. and to justify those changes

  3. it still allows us to retain sc lore. since they’re the sc, who prior to the naming of the blood elves, etc, were sunreavers who had lived for 2000 years in dalaran amongst the humans.

  4. elisande’s comments are evidenced in game. though veressa is still full high elf.
