This video does a pretty good job on describing what is believed to be Blizzards thought process on adding Void elves as many believe was a solid “compromise” and why it really isn’t and was also a fumble on Blizzards part.
yeah i watched that back when he first made it. really well done.
It’s a common opinion you’ll find.
If there was an alliance high elf squad, it doesnt have to be a full fledged army, that was loyal to the alliance they would have been summoned to the battle of lordaeron or have some kind of presence in kul tiras. Even if it was just vereesa standing in the background alone. But no the sc sits in dalaran waiting for the next world threat not a faction war
Only a few individuals have ties to the alliance the rest are exile refugees living in a neutral capacity or a part of the kirin tor in dalaran
Its a biased video made a week before the infamous q&a and it doesnt address the issues ion brings up, that they consider the high elves playable and giving the alliance an identical race would blur the faction identities
Taliesin has stated in a later video that he doesn’t have a dog in the fight and was simply investigating into whether or not High Elves might be viable.
If you’ve watched the video, he does address Ion’s argument that “Blood Elves are High Elves” head on by mentioning that same logic would prevent Highmoutain Tauren and Mag’har Orcs from being playable, as by that logic, they are already represented by Thunder Bluff Tauren and Orgrimmar Orcs respectively.
Also. Nightborne. They’re basically a variation on Night Elves
from the position of a wow fan, customer of blizzard, alliance (and also horde) player, i could give two squats about any of that cause we already addressed solutions to the silhouette and identity crises. none of which have been accepted by people such as yourself. the whole point is to keep the goal posts ever receeding, just out of reach like a carrot on a stick
Hm tauren and maghar are on the same faction and they arent copy pastes of a core race they are variants. Just like void elves are a variant of high elves
Im not understanding your correlation of how its only three though. Obviously the 7th Legion is receiving High Elf support to implement them in their war efforts. Ive seen like three worgen help out in the war effort. I guess theyre not really Alliance aligned.
Are you talking about the High Vale Elves? They are clearly friendly to the Alliance. Theyre busy defending their home from the Horde in the Hinterlands. Theres hardly any neutral High Elf. Most of them are Allied aligned and hostile to Horde. Dalaran wasnt always neutral. The SC isnt part of the Kirin Tor. They are there to prevent Horde uprising in Dalaran since it is their home. Also, Dalaran has had no presence on this expansion. The SC might be doing something but theres no way for them to if they arent in expansion.
People and places can be used by Blizzard when ever they want. Just because something isnt used this expansion doesnt mean it wont be for the next.
and night elves?
So tell me how High Elves aren’t a variation of Blood Elves? They’re biologically the same (save for fel corruption) but are politically different.
Also, your argument would mean the Nightborne shouldn’t be on the horde, as they’re a variation of an alliance race, but they’re on the horde anyway
Void Elves dont blur faction identities? They are literally Blood Elves.
Why do YOU think we shouldnt have High Elves? If they were implemented in 8.3, what would change for you in game?
Curse you and Murgatroyd for being able to post gifs!
Genn is present in every alliance cinematic in bfa. Its very difficult to make a case presenting them as not part of the alliance
give hearts, receive hearts. win.
So one guy, I know he is an important figure. You say three isnt enough but one is?
At this point it just seems like you have an issue with admitting that High Elves wont be that big of a deal if added. Lore changes. Kul’Tirans were normal humans until Blizzard decided to change them. If they can do something like that, High Elves can be united as one and be a lot easier to write in than, all of a sudden these humans look different.
That one guy is the right hand man of anduin. The worgen are supposed to be with the night elves reclaiming their lands atm anyway
Good night guys
G’night! Talk more later =D
