Pretty much. Itâs probably like the horde ones, you earn it on alliance but can use it on both.
Thatâs how it should work anyway.
Lol I could care less for a bee mount, and the horde got appropriate mounts from zandalar.
Iâd love to have a wicker dog from drustvar, that would be an appropriate mount. That would conceivably be a cross faction mount after an alliance acquisition questline.
can i use my hyena on alliance then or no?
I think so. I think both the horde mounts can be obtained by horde but used by both.
So, purely deliberate pot stirring for its own sake. Got it.
I donât think so, but Alliance can get the drop from the zone. I still havenât gotten the Kuafon mount quest to drop for me.
thank you for letting me know! iâll have to try tomorrow when i get a chance to play.
post of the day for me. this cracked me up
My friend bought a hyena mount from the AH on an alliance toon, no idea if itâs the same one or not though.
I havenât compared to know. I didnât realize it wasnât soulbound.
Well either way, thereâs at least one hyena option for allies.
The bee should be an option for the horde in a similar manner, especially since itâs the only one.
One that is a prevalent, even in the OP of this thread. One that Drede also loves to insinuate. If you donât agree, congratulations but it is the point I was originally making.
And yet they are the only group that still carry on High elven traditions, actively speak the High elven language, and continue the High elven visual aesthetics. Their home is the High elven capital and the very Blood Elven heritage quest turns your character into a high elf to experience the tribulations and struggles the High elves endured. Even visually Ion describes the High elven themes as inherently Blood Elven, suggesting to players that want to play fair-skinned, blonde haired, blue eyed elves should play Blood Elves.
Itâs irrelevant if they arenât âExactlyâ the same, it is still a central theme to their race. Itâs the same reason why High elves arenât given any High elven phrases when interacted with, or are seen wearing any high elven themed clothes or wielding high elven themed weapons, to make this cultural distinction a little more visible between the elves still immersed in High elven culture and those whoâve largely abandoned it.
You suggest not disregarding the growth of these groups, yet you ignore the âgrowthsâ that gave the High elves the little distinction from Blood Elves in the first place.
Acknowledging their roots, and what inspired their themes and culture is not the same as disregarding their growths. Each race pulls from a theme unique to them, and itâs important to maintain those elements when furthering the fantasy itâs intended for. Blood Elf players feel they deserve the high elven themes because itâs always been a core theme to their race.
Alleria mind as well have jumped out of a time machine from the day and age that best represents the high elven themes, one that is not shared by the modern day High elf. While like you previously mentioned itâs clear the Blood Elves have grown in the time since she departed, they are still far more similar in theme than Alleria is with other High elves. It is probably why she isnât seen interacting very much with High elves, and directly reaches out and allies herself with the only group of Blood elves who were willing to side with her. But thatâs simply a theory
And weâve come full circle. Just because tattoos are not a playable belf customization yet doesnât mean it isnât one of their thematic characteristics considering many official pieces of art depicting blood elves have tattoos. If the entire intention of giving them tattoos was to separate their themes, itâs a poorly chosen one.
No, my point is because Blood Elves already have them, it does not make them any more distinct from Blood Elves than they already are.
Personally myself, I want to see playable High elves in any iteration. Whether they be Alliance, or Horde, I want to pursue the best possible course that may lead to them being playable. Unfortunately many people only want high elves in one way, or not at all, and thatâs a stance Iâm against. That said, I canât see Blizzard ever changing their perspective on why they donât want to add high elves to the Alliance, nor can I pretend to not see the problem it presents to players that feel it infringes on the blood elven thematic on the horde.
Your answer is the race youâre posting on. Void elves. A type of Thalassian elf with a thematic so different that it does not infringe on the theme of the Blood Elves, both visually and culturally.
Oh man, we might not have same opinion on High Elves but man your gifs are great.
Also, everyone needs to slow down on here while Im at work. 500 post to read is a lot lol
High Elfers are just people who want to play Blood Elves, but donât like looking at Orcs. Or the color red.
I know we donât agree - but no one ever correctly said that we have to dislike people we donât agree with on one issue. And thanks, I do what I can.
even the devs called it out
We want to play High Elves, not Blood Elves. Blood Elves are on the Horde, High Elves that didnt join their kin after the third war are on the Alliance.
Orcs are fine, but trolls are better (the race, not the forum variety).
they are already playable, what you want are playable alliance high elves. then this makes sense and i wouldnt be compelled to post
