High Elf Allied Race Megathread (Continuation)

Jeremy Feasal, I think? He said “stay tuned to our next Q&A because we have something big to talk about. It’s high elves!”

Ion “the Horde is waiting for you” Hazzikostas even acknowledge the demand during WoD, mentioning High Elves as one of the potential “sub races”

that was an off the cuff joke…

No, that wasn’t what he said. It wasn’t about next Q&A, but about acknowledging player requests.

Since they have been rather quiet lately on the public relations front we have no idea what they plan for the future, if it’s no more allied races, then no big deal, I’ll accept that.

But with this team and them always seeming to pull at blood elf heart strings… they are more likely to put blood elves as a choice between horde and alliance than high elves that are with the alliance already. Lol I don’t really want that. Only way that works is if they break down faction barriers and give every race a choice of which cities you attend and pvp with… but you all get to raid and pve together.

Oh, fair enough. it’s been a while since I saw the video, so…

I for one would be ok with the Blood Elves becoming a neutral race like the Pandaren, but then the Horde would be losing a race, so it wouldn’t be realistic to take a race away from a faction

Where? In game? In a book? A blog? Which Night Elves that we “know today” were trolls exactly?

You aren’t quoting a darn thing. You are stating something and saying that Blizz said it.

I said that the definition of subspecies in the real world is controversial. As far as I know, Blizz doesn’t even use subspecies to identify their work.

How on Azeroth am I supposed to know what definitions you are aware of or not when you throw out things like “This is incredibly false scientifically” and attempt to wave what I am saying away? I am keen on detail and being specific.

What’s more likely.

Mechagnomes and an Allied race using the Worgen rigging, most likely Sethrak. Who have been requested forever, and are much loved by the community as a whole?

Or some blue eyed blood elves a small, dedicated group of whiners on the forums clamor for?

Contrary to popular belief you hold for yourself.

Blizzard is a business and the sheer act of adding content, is a more attractive venue than “upsetting” the 6 or so people who are so actively against this idea that they will quit WoW for it.

We all know if High Elves are added, it will affect nothing for those who don’t get it, you’ll throw your tantrum then be back a month later paying for your sub and the allied race blizzard will give you in exchange, this is how content works.

Because as adamant as you are here, you have no real stake on the issue other than spite, you lose nothing and anything you think you do, is a personal problem at most.

Blizzard knows this too, trust me, your outrage is minimum to them as compared to the prospect of creating hype and revenue for actually creating content, because once again, they’re a business.

A lot of people wanna see a reunification of the high and blood elves… and if they remove the factions then both sides would choose whatever they want for their Thalassian elf… but who knows removing factions is just a rumor.

You must be new, but long story short.

High elves. Because it’s much less work with much more demand. I’m not seeing the Sethrak mega-thread on the front page daily, and there isn’t even a Mechagnome thread as far as I know.

You low-balling the issue doesn’t make you right, just makes you new. :man_shrugging:

High Elves. Because a couple of people don’t want to roll Horde and keep trying to force it onto Alliance.

Ignore him. The rhetoric is indicative that he’s not interested in a discussion.

High Elves are the most requested and the longest requested race since the game’s inception

High Elves have been on the Horde longer than High Elves have been on the Alliance since Warcraft 2 in 1995.

It’s time to hang your hat and admit it’s not happening.

It clearly states that the High Elves joined the Alliance in Warcraft 2 after the Orcs invaded Quel’thalas and allied with the Forest Trolls.

The very intro mentions of the humans arming themselves with Dwarven Cannon and elven steel. Not to mention the various Elven units among the human factions.

I’m aware, by his first post he ooze’s casual.

It’s a shame WoW lore is so lost on so many players that their only addition to the thread is what Ion said incorrectly almost a year ago.

That was Warcraft 2, and the Alliance of Lordaeron. This is WoW and the Alliance of Stormwind.

Wrong again, try harder.

Casual? By what metric? I am a casual Helf disliker, yes.

They had a reason for it in the past, and it made sense that they were not a core race, but with the introduction of Allied races whom didn’t need large populations, cities and large back stories (high elves do)

I didn’t think anything of it until ARs were introduced.

People who are keen on details and specifics wouldn’t need them in these cases nor argue these cases arbitrarily based on who they do and do not like. We went over this matter in the past, I am not intersted in doing so again.

Which is why they havent implemented it in 12 years right?
They do a cost and benefit analysis, clearly, there is a lot more cost than benefit to the implementation of high elves.
