these guys are cool looking, but i do believe i see more blue tentacles lol

Beyond high elves, I don’t care what else they add.

Hi Broflake.

Here you go.

Genes have to be passed on, yeah? So how am I incorrect?

You do realize your citation literally states a new species can arise from an existing species.

Ergo

T-rex ~>chicken
Old species~>new species.

WoW uses magic to completely skip the evolutionary process.

So instead of Trex~>Chicken through the typical process of natural selection, you see this instead.

Troll~>night elf
One species transforming into another species within the same generation.
You, however, are trying to assert that if this occurs, that individual should still be classified as a troll, until he produces offspring which would then be classified as a night elf. This is a completely illogical argument with no basis.

I am glad you know how to use the internet to look up the definition of words.
Now if we could sign you up for a class in logic application, you’d probably stop acting childishly.

As far as ascetics go, high elves and mech gnomes are the most viable for helmets, armor and mostly designed for player use.

Saberon and ankoan would require a large amount of finicking to get the helms just right and create a fem model.

I want to see a source for where one day a troll was a troll and then one day after so much time it woke up and was a Night Elf, vs trolls were mutated and these new traits were passed down. I am not going to make a leap like that until the whole thing is clarified.

Oh boy. The trolling is real. Nice way of tossing out insults. Once again, you engaged me here, and yet I am the childish one?

Yeah I think a lot more work would need to be done to make saberon and ankoan playable, probably sethrak too.

High elves would be much simpler to implement, even if they do change the model.

It is only covered on the history of the night elves, and how it speaks of the trolls turning into night elves due to the power of the well of eternity and Elune.

You don’t need clarification on it because that is how the story is written, and a story taking place in a fictional place does not need to follow the aspects of science. Let alone in science, once a sub-species comes out of an existing species, it is considered a sub-species provided it meets that criteria, not until after it gives birth to a nwe generation.

This is seen in cases where evolution repeats itself.

Sweet, now you’ll play innocent after casually throwing out a link about the definition of species.
Perhaps you should follow your own words.

they were already planned and implemented in TBC

we know this because chris metzen said ‘blood elves are our high elves’

and we know alliance high elves can never be changed to appear different because when they were modified and differentiated, the pro alliance high elf community threw a massive tantrum and said it wasnt good enough :woman_shrugging:

Throwing a tantrum? Move of us have made a simple request and with the introduction of Allied races, it makes it more possible. So please keep throwing that phrase out there. You look foolish.

i am referring to the days that followed april 26 2018, and really when void elves were revealed as the AR

thats when this all first started. they thought the AR system was the answer to their prayers. then the void elf reveal. then ion explains the devs’ reasoning. if you were here you know what happened on the forums

All we can do is keep asking for what we want. Some people may not like that and stuff like that generally isn’t worth acknowledging.

And personally I believe we’ve been heard. They have said they are taking feedback into account for future ars so our chances are good!

thats fine. and given how this is the -ONLY- thread we can discuss alliance high elves in(atm), you have to accept the fact that youre going to get both pro and anti arguments

first allied races are going to be much more rarer after BFA. they are on record saying they dont want them to become an expected thing every major content patch. so the chances of them wasting a precious AR slot for something that they consider(and have told us repeatedly) already playable is unlikely

This works the same for those of us who know Alliance should never get High Elves. Our chances are good because we know the devs are taking our views into account.

All I can find is that they were “transformed”, which doesn’t tell much. If I have a tumor grow am I transformed? Like I said, people need to be very clear when they try to point things out.

I don’t accept what players dish out unless it has been confirmed by Blizz (in writing, mind you).

Also, there is a lot of controversy over what defines a subspecies. More than once in research that I am seeing, it says more than just geographic isolation as part of the definition.

Linking a source for a definition isn’t childish. Insults like calling someone childish is trolling though.

I admire your energy on this. But I believe the people on the forums have a more well formed opinion on this subject. So it appears to be very little of both sides here.

I used to see more pro on here in the past but I think a lot of people are tired of being ridiculed and treated as though we are children, or worse on some of the other threads (people have accused high elfers as sexual deviants because of them being fair skinned elves and moonguard and what not.) people also have made their points as well, and shared their ideas and have moved on and probably still support the idea.

if blizz sees it as a money making opportunity, they probably won’t care about your feelings. There was also a lot of push back from the players in other areas of the game, and the devs couldn’t give two flying poops about our pushback. Example, rng, time gating and warmode sharding.

The story rather explicitly states they became the night elves we know today thousands of years ago. You’re asking for clarity which is already present.

if you stopped being human and became an octopus, are you transformed?
The preceding sentence here is a proper comparison. Yours was not.
The matter is not a lack of clarity on the story tellers part, but a willingness to not understand on your part.

Here we go again.
Kirela, it was stated in the lore Blizzard wrote, that should be enough. You’re trying to claim people are being dishonest by quoting the very lore Blizzard wrote. Let alone your demands only seem to apply to those who disagree with you on the notion of high elves, because you did not say anything when Oreahna was claiming high elves don’t use the sunwell the same way blood elves do.

I find your demand for claims only applies to a singular audience, and is indicative of significant bias.

Real life =/= azeroth life.
Welcome to fiction.

Linking the source for the definition when both parties already understand the definition is patronizing, which is obviously insulting and childish. Your constant claims of naivety and innocence is an old routine which no one is convinced.
If you don’t like what was written by Blizzard that is fine, but your insistence on denying it is not something I am going to continue entertaining. It is cyclical, and it is a waste of time.

A while back someone showed a tweet I think where a dev ackowledged high elves as the most popular race request.

This is correct, I believe it was about the time before void elves came out.

yes. but it said nothing about alliance high elves being the most requested AR

if it did it would be touted about here in every pro argument

i believe it was a tweet that said ‘we are aware of the request’

and then we actually got the dev commentary on the subject
