If people think it has no chance of happening, why post here so often to argue against it? What’s wrong with us discussing what we want?
High Elves were just a bootleg knockoff of Warhammer High Elves. It’s a good thing they’ve been put to rest.
There is absolutely no storyline or in game content pointing to Sethrak as a race as well. Love the Sethrak community, but there’s basically no chance at the moment and them being playable is going to be based on the support and certainly not a plan Blizz has at the moment
Just one thing
High Elves have never been on the Horde? I’d recommend you go back and replay WC3 or do the WotLK quests. High Elves are exiles of Quel’thalas who held to old alliances rather than go with the rest of their nation.
Blood Elves are no longer High Elves.
Normally you’d be right if Allied Races weren’t a thing and the out cry wasn’t at fever pitch at this point than in any other point in WoWs history, they’ve always said “races are a lot of work”, that’s not the case anymore with ARs.
The lore, the game, the lines between them.
Take your pick, they’re all probably right.
Caelis…your post is just filled with insults.
You’re not worth my time.
Really? Cause it’s a rundown of what any logical business would do, and your side is a factor in it, any insult you find in that is of your own making.
But I guess that’s just a short handed way of saying, “I’m dodging.”
And what’s funniest,
Pot
Kettle
Black.
We need to disengage with the trolls. We’re giving them exactly what they want by taking the bait.
Let’s take the high road.
the horde loses a part of its faction identity and the blood elves lose their uniqueness. while the alliance loses nothing and gains something. yea lets turn the thalassian elves into a neutral race because that worked so well for pandas
the high elves as a people left the alliance. that a few individuals remained is irrelevant
they are the exact same people divided by a political ideology. this includes the addiction to magic. alliance high elves ALSO sate this addiction by drawing magic from the sunwell, the same as the blood elves
the blood elves are the high elves from the WC games you keep bringing up. its literally in their race description at the character creator screen

you think because theres a couple portal keepers in stormwind the alliance has claim to a horde race? there are small traitor factions to every race in wow. by your logic horde can have playable humans because the defias, aletrac, fogsail pirates human factions exist
I agree, it’s better and more fun to talk about high elves.
The High road?
Good name for a new High Elf racial.
40% Increased movement speed while traveling on a road.
That would actually be pretty cool.
I was thinking of racials for rangers if the quel’danil elves are focused on. Some sort of trap might be appropriate for that I think.
We’ve been working with High Elves for years and folks didn’t start complaining until recently. You’re not losing faction identity any more than we did when you got your more different NElves
No, I think because of the reoccurring occurrence of the High Elf NPCs they should be playable. If it was just a few NPCs I’d say “Yeah, they’re just a few one offs”. But when that race is tied to a major faction in an expansion, and even Horde quests point out “Those are with the Alliance, mess 'em up”, we’re not ‘couple of portal keepers’ but instead ‘A group who’s blatantly aligned with these’. Like, I think there are more Alliance High Elves NPCs than there are Alliance Dark Irons NPCs at this point
If Horde-allied humans appeared as much as High Elves did for the Alliance, I’d argue they should be a playable race on the Horde, and still do argue they should get a Nathanos-like reuse of the human model
it is literally a few NPCs. you can count the number of alliance high elves in BFA on one hand. they add nothing to the alliance story at all. you have 1 alliance high elf actually fighting the horde in the faction war, and his name is frostfenser seraphi
you know how many belves there’s supposed to be, right? or trolls? or maghar? or dranei? or void elves? or lightforged draenei? or- well you see where i’m going with this.
I’m looking across the entire game here, not just BFA. If we were just looking at BFA you’d be wondering what up and happened to all of the regular Draenei
And hey, I know a lot about adding nothing to the Alliance story at all
/cries in Alliance race that isn’t human during MoP, or Draenei from WotLK to WoD, or Worgen from Cata to Legion, or Gnome from Cata to BFA
i’d personally rather have mechagnomes as an allied race but they’d have as much lore as regular gnomes and not nearly as much as any type of elf. but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve to be made.
thats fine. we can go back to 2005 when chris metzen said ‘blood elves are our high elves’
he said this knowing about the few high elf NPCs the alliance had in vanilla and the few who held out til the portal reopened to outland at allerian hold. yet he called blood elves are our high elves
Then Wrath happened and turned everything on its head. Then Mists expanded on from that. And then Legion stuck a nail in it
Basically, High Elves appearing is a good luck charm for a good expansion.
Mechagnomes were guaranteed the day we datamined their new dance. Calling it now, they and Vulpera will be the next allied race in 8.3.5
That’s true, they do tend to be in the good expansions!
i really hope you’re right. :> if it’s mechagon exalted i’ll need to grind rep on one of my alliance toons. i got flight today. (thank you kirela for letting me borrow some pets) so it won’t be as nasty to do it again.
