High Elf Allied Race Megathread (Continuation)

To me, again, this seems to be the sticking point. A lot of the “race fantasy” on this thread is wildly inconsistent. Some people want concepts that fit the Blood Elves or Night Elves much more closely, while some are lobbying for storm elves/dragon elves or something similar.

It’s like a lot of people want something called “High Elves” on the Alliance side, but have wildly differing opinions on what that is supposed to mean.

Between who? I’m assuming here you’re talking about drawing in all, or most, of the High Elves from wherever they are now under one banner?

I also want an explanation on why Stormwind didn’t immediatly invite them to live in their city or help them build their own place in the Eastern Kingdoms.

My biggest gripe has been their correlation with Dalaran, I want an entire quest line of Vereesa just stepping on Khadgars neutral foot, before flying out of their with their Wildhammer bros.

according to this thread void elves are blood elves which are not high elves. if this customization happened there would be ZERO chance of an actual alliance high elf AR being implemented. you would be against this not for it if it really was about the lore(its not). as it sets the bolt lock to the door that is already shut

A lot of concepts that differ more from what they currently are is to give them more difference from blood elves.

I honestly don’t think the high elf fans, myself included, would be terribly upset if we get high elves as they are now without going down some other path. It’s the other side that would be upset about that.

To me, what a high elf is currently is a member of any of the alliance aligned groups that chose not to drain mana from creatures and remained loyal to the alliance. I’d also like to see Vereesa’s story expanded on, and a unification of the splintered groups. I’d like to see them have their own place in the world again.

I’d like to see them find and embrace a new home. Have quel’thalas be firmly in their past and have it just be the present and future for the blood elves.

shh, they’ll make me quit making suggestions. i’m trying to make this a creative ideas place for wow devs to come to. and i’m a problem solver. if the issue isn’t resolvable one way, it may be resolvable another.

Different people have different opinions. Each has its own bargaining offers.

Everyone wants high elves. If they are just like they are in lore, people will be fine with it. But some people are willing to offer compromises for a version that’s not quite the same as current lore, and each one will have ideas that go on different directions.

Ion has told players that if you want to play a High Elf go play a Blood Elf on Horde. Then again they added a Night Elf race to both factions. The Alliance has the Night Elves and Horde has the Nightborne, who happen to be Night Elves but different bcuz the Nightwell changed them. Stop making excuses Blizzard and add High Elf to Alliance.

Suggesting stuff is always fine. We may not all agree on what is suggested, but there is no harm in brainstorming.

Yes.

That wouldn’t take much work either. They are all under the Alliance currently.

The one oddballs are the Highvale given they are the most isolated, and they have the most potential for new and unique things given their anti-arcan, pure nature-living, light-using lifestyle.

Plus their connection to the wildhammer could be an opening for shamanism if they don’t go the storm elves route.

I think the only major story arc (in addition to the one that creates the need for reunification to happen) that would be required would be the severing of the relationship between the Silver Covenant and Dalaran. And if that’s well written it could be a chunk of the Alliance-side story arc across an expansion.

pretty much. there are only a few elves in that hut anyway

everything weve seen from the SC leads me to believe this is unlikely to happen. their only friend in the alliance is jaina really, and they cant even follow her around anymore because jaina is front and center in the faction war

dalaran comes first for the SC

And they live right next to a Dream portal.

Would not be a stretch for them to form an independent group of Druids.

Also an option.

They could also take it over and make those nutrils form their own group <.<

How so? Your entire post is just you having a tantrum at the fact I will not agree with you.

This be my gnome. Made him for a friend when we ran an all gnome raid. Immensely hilarious, I hate gnomes btw.

Belf DK’s do not use the sunwell as was established in lore. They are an exception because they are not truly thalassian elves anymore.
To be more accurate, they are high elf DKs because they died prior to the name change, like Koltiras, but they joined the blood elves because they are a continuation of their people.

It is both arcane and holy.

I’m pretty sure that the Kirin Tor beats the Silver Covenant in a straight up revolution/insurrection (which is what that would be). Easier to give them a reason - a conflict in a story arc that threatens all High Elves and pulls the metaphorical trigger on your reunification story arc - to confront the Kirin Tor and put an “Either you help us with this or we leave and do it ourselves” demand before them. Much like the decision Tyrande confronted Anduin with before Darkshore.

When only a small number of NPCs are shown, they say ingame numbers aren’t factual.

Unless it suits their arguments.

lol

Highvale High Elf; I love my nature living anti Arcane life! Would could possibly spoil this!

-Dalaran’s shadow starts to block out the sun as it approaches-

Highvale High Elf; -Holdes loved ones close-

Besides, how many Dalarans are there in the story right now anyways?
