It was a serious question; this debate is contentious enough without it and many people seem to manage to have perfectly civil conversations despite being on opposite sides of the issue.

I think everyone can have days where we get too heated. I know I’ve been witchier than I should be some days.
Might be a good idea for people to let bygones be bygones and just move on.
It doesn’t do much for our case either, if we’re personally attacking people. And this goes for both sides really.
I think we all have the common ground of loving the game and the stories in it (mostly).

They are a type of High Elf.
There are a few types and we want this specific one.
That’s not an issue with Allied Races.
That’s not what we’re asking for so you should have absolutely no problem.
We want the ones who chose to stay with the Alliance and did not use dark magics for the sake of survival. Ones who have been with the Alliance since Vanilla.
Blood Elves in no way, shape, or form, offer that. It is not part of the Blood Elf fantasy and exclusively belongs to the Alliance High Elves.
We aren’t asking for a “Pretty Elf” we are asking for out lore characters to be playable.
If all you care about is having “Pretty Elves” then it doesn’t matter since we have Void Elves and Night Elves who look better then Blood Elves anyway. (IMO)
Also can you get off the Light Skin crap. Dark Skin is literally one of the top suggestions.

Personally i don’t find respectful to someone come into the thread and accuse someone else who’s for a longer period of time of a bunch of stuff the person haven’t done, and that said person shouldn’t have a place in a “respectful debate”.
I sorry if i don’t fit your parameters of respectfulness, i’m not worthy of bowing to virtue personified.

Quite simply though: some of us have been engaged in what we’re trying to keep a respectful debate and discussion. As soon as you say “I don’t care about their reasons, they’re ridiculous” or you blatantly put words in people’s mouths you’ve just lost your place at that respectful discussion table. Doesn’t stop you from interjecting your opinions…but it does mean you can expect a pretty dismissive response from the other side. If that’s how you would like it be that’s entirely your choice.
I’m not going down that road, I’ve worked to be a respectful voice of the opposition here, willing to have discussions and debates without resorting to that - and I’m going to continue to. Whether that’s with you or not is entirely your choice.
If you want to - again - put words in my mouth and say I said you should be treated disrespectfully I’m just going to post the actual words I wrote and let people judge that for themselves. It’s ironic - seriously ironic - that you’re using a post I made calling for civility and mutual respect to try and say I was being disrespectful.

What path do people want to see high elves take? We know what we each love about their current lore, but what does everyone want for their future stories?

I want half their arc to revolve around their point of view of things as a people, since we’ve never heard their “point of view”, besides Vereesa. After that i wanna see their distaste for Blood Elves fleshed out as a plot.

good grief. orcs got human skin colors from draenor, but we got blue. we had blue already. with tentacles. this is the second blue tentacled race on alliance and some are even asking for broken… thatd be 3 tentacled races. and yet asking for a traditional elf is some monumental issue. you have a traditional elf (of the dark elf variety). why cant we? what is wrong with this picture?

If this addition happens, I think the first thing you would need is an expansion, or a dot rev to one, that gets the High Elves front and center in your story arc. The Three Sisters have the lead on that, for me. I think they are the easiest jumping off point to bring attention.

Currently hoping for the option for an Olive Skinned, Purple Eyed, Paladin for an option. With White Brown or Black hair options.
Also tan and Light Blue are complementary colors.
A lot of them or speaking against it and more options for Void Elves is not exclusive to wanting High Elves.
Quit projecting.
You even have stated things like “Light Skinned Elves are Horde Exclusive!” in the past. So quit pretending your reasons are everyone else’s.
If all we wanted where light skinned pretty Elves then there would only be a Light Skin for Void Elves thread and not a High Elf thread.
And we wouldn’t be making request for Dark Skin and Tattoos.
Unification would be a good first step. Then they can start deciding on a direction for their people.
