High Elf Allied Race Megathread (Continuation)

woohoo! logged in today and the forums detected my paladin again!

as usual this is not reflected in lore or in game

the only high elves in SW are a couple portal keepers in the mage district who are probably just visiting from dalaran. they are no more a part of the identity of the alliance then the ethereals they share the same spot with

I would love for them to update quel’danil and use it, though I am not expecting it.

That would be nice, if they had to use dalaran it would be nice for it to go back in its place too.

Typical immature response from you.
As for the mods agreeing, prove it.
Beyond the fact that you post on horde, which Blizzard has admitted bias for and you are supporting efforts to keep High Elves from the game because
whatever lame reasons your masters have; beyond all that, you have no proof of any assertion.

Especially in your statements(see, I used a polite grown-up word there: not ‘blather’ or ‘nonsense’ or anything like that but ‘statement’. A good word for children to learn) about the sunwell, you completely overlook (by accident I am sure) that , IN YOUR OPINION, High e;ves ahnd Blood Elves are the same race because reasons.
ok; for the sake of that argument, then so are Void Elves. so why can’t they use ir?
So are Night Elves. Same.
so are Trolls, the mutual ancestor. Same.
and what do Belf DKs use, for their magics?
Finally, if this sunwell has truly become a ‘fount of holy energy’ then DO BELF WARLOCKS NEED IT?
Gotcha

You literally said Broflake only disagrees with you becsuse it sexually pleases him.

That is super weird, lad.

You know you can just change character at the upper right corner, right?

There’s no ‘opinion’ about it. Even the vast - and I mean vast - majority of the most ardent supporters of playable High Elves both understand and admit that they are in fact the same race; with their argument being that political, cultural, and moral differences are enough to justify both groups of the same race to be playable.

This is basically the definition of Allied Race.

It’s not, though.

It is, though.

I can see where this is going, but I haven’t got enough money to go out tonight so
 it really isn’t though.

Bring back super shockadins. Maybe offer stronger dps talents within the different specs in trade off for less healing. It would also offer a way to be pinch healers or dps if you need something extra for certain fights.

i unsubbed for a month to check out ff

when i came back and logged in the system couldnt detect any of my characters from wyrmrest accord or moonguard until this morning

i was posting on playpen

Kul Tirans and Humans -> same race, different cultures

DI Dwarves and Dwarves -> same race (they look different because of the powers bestowed upon them by Ragnaros, but they are not a different race), different cultures

LF Draenei and Draenei -> same race AND culture

Void Elves and Blood Elves -> people consider them a different race because reasons, but even if we concede to this, they’re the same people AND have the same culture changing Light/Arcane with Void

Mechagnomes and Gnomes -> same race, almost identical cultures

Maghar Orcs and Orcs -> same race and almost identical culture

Highmountain Tauren and Tauren -> same race (the antlers are a blessing from Cenarius) and almost identical culture

The only two ARs that are different in this sense are:

Nightborne and Night Elves -> considered a different race because reasons, different culture (although the very same as the Highborne who joined the Night Elves in Cataclysm - we could argue adding the Highborne as a playable option for the Horde when the Alliance already had Highborne would be considered inappropriate as per antis’ rationale, right?).

Zandalari and Trolls -> different subspecies of the same race (as per wowpedia), different cultures

And yet none of those aren’t literally the same race

void elves are no longer blood/high elves, but they share the same high elf history and model

they are literally alliance high elves

Let’s deconstruct this, shall we?

All ARs on the same faction and if they are examples of the direction you think the game should go there would be no playable High Elves in the Alliance

Wow, where to start? “Reasons”? 10,000 years under a sunless, moonless dome, cut off from any source of energy well other than the Nightwell, and as Thalyssra said “It changed us”. There is so much wrong with saying they are the same as Night Elves that if it wasn’t so twisted it would be amusing.

Once again - same faction.

Void Elves, nearly transformed into quasi-ethereals without bodies by a Nether Prince, forever altered, living off of Void energy and no longer genetically the same as other Thalassian Elves.

So much to take in, and so much that has nothing to do with playing the same genetic race in both factions.

Maybe try just using the “Yes, they are the same race, but recent cultural and political differences are enough for me” line of argumentation. That is, at least, consistent and a reasonable position to take without resorting to heroic pulls from out of nowhere.

I don’t know where you guys seem to be getting that formula from

A race allied with a faction that could conceivably become playable. That sounds like High elves. That is a plausible allied race.

The one race per side argument isn’t a set formula for blizz. It’s just the current pattern.
