I am thinking glowing lightning tattoos, and eyes that have a swirling storm cloud quality to them, personally. I am thinking a fist weapon, shield combo, and gear that has a high elven feel combined with the shamanistic aesthetic, which I can picture but can’t really describe.
A new day has dawned and with it my continued support for High Elves in the Alliance! We will never yield Blizzard!
Even though according to lore the power that elves draw from is the sunwell.
Contradiction after contradiction after contradiction/
Some high elves continued to mana tap even after the restoration of the sunwell due to their addiction to the power it provided. The sunwell does not fix mentality. This is literally explained in the intro to the blood elf character creation area.
I find it rather bizarre that all of you are hopping on Oreahna’s headcanon train.
The ignition of the sunwell made it both light and arcane.
All thalassian elves are affected by the sunwell.
All thalassian elves draw from it as a source of power.
There is nothing to suggest high elves, for some reason, don’t use it.
Let alone the logic does not make sense.
“high elves didn’t attune to m’uru’s essence.”
neither did the blood elves who are mages, rangers, warriors, etc etc.
They can, on the other hand, have golden eyes per Blizzard.
This is the issue with headcanon it makes sense.
I wish Blizzard had more of these holy fire spells in game. It would help my priest have a more “Burn in the Holy Light!” sort of Scarlet feel.
This. You can’t present a theory with absolutely zero evidence to support it presented anywhere in the lore and then say “Well you can’t prove that’s not how it happened!” Especially when your theory goes against everything the book and game has ever told us about Thalassian Elves. To even Aurora herself when she admitted that the Sunwell was the reason that she no longer needed help coping with her magical withdrawals, and then continued to present the readers with a sort of visual imagery of Aurora twisting and bending the light of the Sunwell almost affectionately in her hand. She seemed to have no problem with allowing the Sunwell to sustain her, but wielding it is somehow unreasonable for her?
But no, we’re suppose to believe that for some reason she and every single high elf in Azeroth would refuse to actually use the light of the Sunwell based off absolutely nothing.
Citation.
Nice to see your debating skills are up to form.
You’ll do anything to get flagged so you can jolly yourself over getting this thread closed.
Learn some manners.
I can think of at least one reason why an elf wouldn’t use the light of the Sunwell: They used it before, they relied on it, and when it was taken from them they were screwed.
I wouldn’t be surprised if many in Silvermoon are still “diversifying” just to be safe, or from still being traumatized by the Sunwell’s loss, or even from losing it when most of them were just kids and not remembering it all that well.
The game is all we have, as far as characters are concerned, for determination.
If we cannot accept perception through their interactions as to what happens and why, then how?
I hope you realize your course of reasoning would have to mean that EVERY race would be using the Sunwell for access to the Light, redeemed belf or not.
Yes, exactly! Holy is in desperate need of more damaging spells too… Questing on Holy is an absolute nightmare. It would be really cool if Holy priests sort of worked like the Scarlet priests with a bunch of holy fire and light spells.
Legion.
Thank you.
So…disagreeing means I am trying to get the thread closed?
There is such sweet irony here.
That is the thing, they cant not use it. They are attuned to the power of the sunwell. It is why Lor’themar isn’t happy about the matter, and if I recall correctly, hopes to find a way that their people do not require its power anymore. Such as how the nightborne were cured by the arcandore.
You have lore and books.
Uh…no.
This is also covered by lore as well dude. What makes the thalassian elves unique is that unlike every other race in existence the sunwell is a necessary existence for them. it is where they draw their power, but every other race in the game does NOT and CANNOT draw from the sunwell unless they are there to interact with it directly. Such as when Arthas used it to revive kel’thuzad.
Thalassian elves use the sunwell no matter the distance and rely on it.
Other races don’t.
It is their defining feature.
While I think it would be a totally reasonable idea for them to see it that way, I would still need to see some sort of example of High elves saying something along those lines in the game, or novel. Otherwise it’s little more than just an unconfirmed theory. But regardless it’s always fun to think about.
But mainly Elves have embraced their newly restored Sunwell; seeing it as a symbol of hope for their people. After all that was the entire purpose of the prophecy Velen had regarding their redemption at the sacrifice of M’uru. While Velen was restoring the Sunwell he said “In time, the light and hope within will rebirth more than this mere fount of power. Mayhap, they will rebirth the soul of a nation.” Suggesting that the symbol of hope the well signified to the Thalassian elves was more powerful than the magical fount of the well itself.
first, quit calling me ‘dude’; you know I’m female.
Second: my characters read only the books ingame there fore so do I.
finally, thank you again for proving to me you still have no manners.
Congratzulations on being capitalizing on others’ desire to keep this thread open, so you know you wont get flagged.
The only Blood Elves to actually attune to - and draw power directly from - the Naaru were Liadrin and her Blood Knights. They don’t any longer since the Naaru is gone, and:
“With the Sunwell’s rebirth, the Blood Knights have chosen to embrace it and to forge for themselves a new identity as they lead their people into a more promising future.”
Yeesh, the mental twister (and no, not remotely from everyone - before people get their knickers twisted) being played here is amazing.
I wonder if Helfs would stay in Stormwind. Its become home to an awful lot of people so far.
That is a personal problem on your part. Ifyou wish to flag me, go ahead, mods agree I have done nothing against ToS

We’ve suggested places like Quel’Danil being expanded or a small hub in Dalaran.
They could also just bring the stormwind park back and have that as their hub, it doesn’t need to be crazy, Allied races have the luxury of that.
stormwind park has already been brought back as the new memorial area. However they could make use of that cliff behind the mage quarter to make a new elven district. This would make a lot of sense since lore wise SW has a significant high elf population and in addition we now have void elves and night elves have lost teldrassil.
TFW you realize Blizzard has been arguing with itself about High Elves for so long that it’s been bleeding into GD for months now…
…I support fully the induction of Elves into ALL FACTIONS HENCEFORTH.
