It used the global /lfg channel so you won’t need it, you’ll just have to do everything manually.
even /lfg channel is limited compared to the addon. /lfg is bound to the zone you’re in.

Listen, WTF is the difference between me messaging someone in the LFG addon and me messaging someone in chat? The person making the group also gets the messages from me in the same chat window. It’s literally 100% THE SAME as not using. All it is doing is moving the chat spam into an organized, searchable window.
I’m convinced that none of you have really thought this through and are only complaining because your overlord made a video complaining about it.

I would argue that something on a timer that spams chat channels, collects data from characters, determines their role, and auto-invites them, without the person having to even be in the room… is pretty clearly automated. No less so than a fishing bot.
This was true in the past, but I believe Classic LFG channel is completely global.
No, it’s not. It’s global. Has been since vanilla 1.12
Pretty sure Blizzard channels are set /1 is genera, /2 is trade, /3 is local defense, /4 is lookingforgroup

Someone posted a screenshot on another thread that it’s global.
Little Flying Faramere is always so defensive. What’s he so defensive about? We’ll see when Classic gets here, we’ll see.

I’ve seen several mentions that LFG was completely global in TBC and possibly 1.12+ but was then changed back at some point.
I see no actual patch notes about it becoming completely global in 1.12 or in TBC, but you can find multiple mentions from players claiming it was global and it was global in Classic beta.
There was a point in vanilla where the looking for group channel was made gloabal. Blizzard took it away after only 1 or 2 days because it was a nonstop global stage for idiots to just spam about chuck norris nonstop. They’re remembering right that it was made into a global channel, they’re just forgetting that it was very quickly turned back into being limited to cities.

If that were true why would you worry about the addon existing since nobody would be using it anyway?
Though, it is very inclusive of people without the addon so even if you were the only one not using it you could still find pugs being made with it. Isn’t that wonderful?!
