Ya, you don’t seem do any content that requires interacting with people or forming parties on your own. I think that discredits any defense or opinion you have on this add-on as you’re biased towards favoring group finder.
Maybe that has to do with the fact I haven’t done ANYTHING since MOP because the game turned to crap. Or maybe not depending on what angle you choose to attack me on next. I’m back for Vanilla and have a purist attitude toward it as well. But this addon doesn’t break anything. Everything is the chicken little argument nowadays though.
If enough people have the addon. Then all communication will be done through the addon without ever using actual in game chat. Which will eventually kill the community aspect of the game chat itself.

I just don’t see how you could have nothing against this add-on and say something like that. You even say yourself that the reason you don’t do that content is the game went to crap… how do you think that happened? Stuff like LFD and LFR
That’s your opinion, LFD and LFR may have been part of it, but it wasn’t the other 90% of why it went sideways.

So you’re saying the majority of communication in vanilla happened with people that whispered you for an invite while putting a group together? Not with random people out in the world or with the people actually in your groups?
When the sky is falling, they won’t listen to logic like this. Getting into groups entailed about 2 lines of chat. The real communication happened once you were IN the group.

There won’t even be the basic need for whispers when 2 parties have the addon.
And then again, I’ll be in a situation where no one will talk to me…
A complete misunderstanding of how this addon works is what causes comments like this.
Except they still have to whisper to get the addon to recognize them as applying to the group, from what I understand.
Unless they have auto-invite turned on (which won’t even be a feature in the Classic version of this addon, the video in the OP was on retail), they’re still going to have the option of whispering back to find out what kind of build the person wanting an invite is (the talent scanner is going to be made an opt in thing for people with the addon) or whatever.
All this addon really does is help consolidate LFG chat (which is already global in 1.11 and will be in Classic) into a more easily readable form. Which I think will be pretty handy since we’re going to have way more people logged into a server than the vanilla servers could handle and chat goes across layers so it’s going to 10,000+ people all using LFG chat.
Whispers is optional if 2 parties have the addon, you have the standard option to decline and invite if you’re creating a group using that function ( this was not done with auto-invite either in a demonstration ).

Conveniently ignore the rest of my post alright.
Even if that is the case, if you’re going to invite someone without talking to them, you’re going to do that whether you have an addon or not.
There were many times in vanilla where I’d log onto my healer, see a Strat-UD group, offer to heal, and immediately be invited without them ever whispering back. The communication happened in the group.
Most people are going to at least go “done it before?” or “build?” even if they’re both using the addon.
Another use for this addon is to hop layers on demand which will be useful. I’m also looking forward to it.

If many people use the addon there is no LFG chat, LFG chat becomes the addon and people who whisper within it, people without the addon would be excluded from many groups who run the function of no chat parsing on the only basis of not having the addon.

Unlikely. You’d have to know for a fact you’re on a different layer than the person and if you’re already coordinating with someone like that they could just /invite you anyway.
Also, this is only a “few weeks” issue or a phase one issue at most.
The addon uses and posts to LFG chat, so even people without the addon will be able to see groups forming! 
From what I can recall, my Vanilla server (this one) was all Chuck Norris, trash talk, vulgarities, and macro’d text strings (for anything requiring a response).
If the Vanilla community was even half as good as many claim it to be, then this app probably won’t make a difference either way.
Classic has nothing to fear from this app unless it turns out that Classic has the same type of community that Retail does.

Not necessary, as I’ve said it has the function of no chat parsing, making people with the addon be the only ones to visually see the group being formed and be the only ones to apply to said groups.
