Here is the LFG Addon in action! Much worse than you thought

I get your point and im not completely disagreeing with you but in vanilla… how often did you really look for group outside of your guildies? Maybe I was fortunate enough to have a pretty active guild but it was rare I ever saw someone new that wasnt a guildy unless it was a guildy friend.

Stop linking trolling videos…that’s the retail version of the addon…how do I know? That’s a dark iron dwarf…Classic version does not have those features.

It’s more than that yes.

A pally spec’d 20/31/0 gets put into “TANK” role regardless.
An spriest gets put into “DPS” role regardless

Now does that mean the tool will reject me if I answer to an LFM heals call ?

It has roles by scanning spec? No. Just nope. Never. I’m picking up the red phone. This isn’t going to happen.

yes…it parses your talent tree and pigeonholes you into a static “role” based on which is your highest tree.

I downloaded the code and read it for myself… src/core/player.lua

This addon will get the bam hammer in classic

You’re not wrong, but it honestly doesn’t impact the entire population. Naturally it’s one of those mods the guild leader is going to force in a lot of cases. Doubtful the player would argue for obvious reasons.

LMAO… this reasoning sounds exactly like what people say about LFD/LFR

A lot, because there were days when they were always busy. Sure, there were guild groups, but if you log on at like 2, and everyone has been in dungeons for the last hour or two, or offline, and people on your friends list are busy or offline, or three friends are online, but no tanks are available, then you have to find someone.

This shouldn’t be new to anyone.

Oh I was as well. But sometimes guildies aren’t available, or they don’t want to do the same content they’ve been doing for months while you work or your fifth alt lol. But let me ask you this, how did you meet new people outside your guild? How did you even find your guild in the first place? How will new people find themselves into your guild? Or you into a new guild if yours falls apart? Doing content outside of your guild exposed you to a ton of new people, some of which you might think would be a good fit for your guild. The way this tool is designed, and more importantly how it can be abused can adversely affect having those interactions if your only value to people is a means to get a quest done fast.

It’s simple at the end of the day really… if Classic ends up not being like the experience of Vanilla WoW… I won’t play and many others won’t either.

Well a pally with a 31/20/0 spec won’t get picked as your “tank” even if they are available because that add-on puts them in the static role of “healer”.

That add-on restricts you to what players can fill those roles.

but this is a zero sum addon, if it is in the game everyone will use.
It is like when Blizz said raiders could turn off the buff in Ice Crown.
Who ever did that and put themselves at a progressive disadvantage?
If everyone is crossing the river by boat and they build a bridge, no one is going to use the boat anymore.
If you are a casual like myself then why the need for expediency. I take out what I put in at my own pace.
This addon is expendiancy gameplay addon and that is what kill retail.

This add on needs to go

No, you manually pick who you want, and the talent tree is coming out.

That add-on works for both retail and classic.

We’re not running on a 1.12 server you know and it even says so on github

It’s a trolling video because the author said himself that changes were coming.

This addon is doa! I believe the author is already removing features that the apologists were ok with from the start.

Those of you defending this addon have already lost.

Because macro and Enter-Shift-Up is up to the player to decide what he say and when, but my fear is that the addon don’t catch some chat request because of wrong keyword or something from the nonusers.

That’s fine, you can still look at the chat manually.
