Let’s be honest here, for elite quests you are just going to invite anybody that wants to do it with you anways. Its the same as just typing in chat “LFM Hogger” and someone whispers you with “here”. You would just invite him.
The people who want this addon are Wrath babies and Retail tourists.

Addons like this existed in vanilla. The game had an LFG system.

Yes, you would manually invite them, perhaps start up a conversation while waiting for others that need that elite to arrive. Using the tool in this fashion dehumanizes players the same way custom group finder does in retail. It allows for minimal communication and parties to form quicker. In your defense the lfg channel to some extent will do this as well but I’m not fully on board with that being in Classic either.

But you can have that conversation before or after pressing the “invite” button. The button doesn’t prevent conversation.

I would not mind this addon and i have a yellow brewfest stien.
But it also doesn’t facilitate it either. Having to ask in zone chat and waiting for people to arrive allows for communication to happen because people are waiting around. It will have the same feel that the custom group finder does in retail and we all know how much people value each other when using that

I am confused, the autoiinvite won’t work for dungeons but it will for custom groups? People would just make custom groups instead of dungeon groups, then use that group for a dungeon
It doesn’t HAVE TO. The addon is like a DPS meter - parses the text. What you do with it is STILL UP TO YOU.
I don’t recall him saying it was being removed from the custom portion of the addon, only the dungeon group portion.

I had the complete opposite experience! Made friends while leveling in westfall for the Red bandanas and then we decided to go throught DM! They explained everything to me and never thought of kicking me out.
Tl;Dr: Make friend in vanilla, Lfg addons are useless that way!
Wow, the power of a game-breaking add-on is in the hands of some random add-on creator. I feel so relieved.
