Heirlooms scale to level 60, 148,000 gold to upgrade per set

From here 3 expansions you will have to spend 3246 billion in gold.

You are not making any sense whatsoever.

Pricing heirlooms high means that casuals who buy wow tokens won’t have any money leftover to buy expensive heirlooms?

That seems counter-productive to me. If you want casuals to buy more WoW Tokens, then you’d think that they’d make the heirlooms cheaper so that they’d have the gold to buy the tokens?

Unless you mean buy the tokens with $$$ to sell… but do casual players really do that? You’d think a more casual person wouldn’t want to spend $$$ on a game that they just casually play.

And again: the heirlooms other than maybe the weapons are not worth it anyhow, because of the i-level scaling. And 18,000g is like… 3 callings on 3 characters, lol.

Yikes…. Good change though. Looks like I’m gonna be broke ( again)

This.

This is probably DOA.

Unless ToF or Torghast leveling dramatically changes things…the campaign is still the way to go. If you are doing the campaign you will get gear naturally. If you need fresh lvl 50 gear, it will be cheaper to buy the crafter’s mark 1 gear off the AH (likely across all of your toons).

Basically given how they have nerfed heirlooms (xp bonus + damage) … the only times heirlooms are worthwhile is if you have a leveling method that outpaces the rate of gear acquisition.

  • So questing…probably not worth the cost. Since turnins award gear.
  • Dungeons award loot, so probably not worth the cost.
  • Torghast could work, but that’s once a day, so unless you level once a day, likely not worth it.
  • ToF it could work for - since not all of the % completion tasks award gear.
  • Islands may work.
  • BGs may work.

Most of those “may work” though award just a pittance of xp. Not sure how many players actually bother with it as a form of leveling.

IMO, best thing to do, is to level up to 60 if you haven’t, and once you get 60, go do all the Bonus Objective quests.

Scattered across the zones, is a whole slew of gear that is 138 if you are fresh 60. This gear is easily good enough to get you started. The campaign gear, once they implement that “alts have the campaign completed too” isn’t really going to be important.

Once you have full 138, craft 200s if you can, or if not… 151s are usually buyable now in the AH. Personally I wouldn’t waste time on the campaign, TBH. I suppose it would get you a 187 weapon at the end, but eh. That seems like a lot of work. Maybe do Battle for Ardenweald instead and skip the rest of it?

New heirlooms aren’t worth the price of upgrading…

It was never a need, but a want. I want the upgrades because I enjoy leveling without having to worry about enchants, having to transmog new gear, plus I have four accounts, so I accumulate tons of rested XP across many of my alts intentionally to make good use of the bonuses that heirlooms offer.

May be useless to you, but EXTREMELY beneficial for me.

Anyway, the gold is an afterthought, I have the Brutosaur mount, this is a drop in the bucket to me.

My point was, wearing the heirlooms is exactly the same as not wearing the heirlooms because of the mob scaling.

I literally took 2 warriors out, both 59, one wearing i60 and the other wearing i120 and saw very little if any difference in their questing.

I don’t really see the point in buying the heirlooms.

I level my characters 1-60 in dungeons and then buy the best gear I can from the auction house.

Is not that bad if we take tje fact that many player alrrady habe 90% of the looms at level of BFA

That wont be that bad, thats something you can work towards slowly, and do it witj strategy like upgrading weapons first or participating on events that usually sells those upgrades by curremcy like legion tw

Why would I even bother to upgrade heirlooms at all? They are terrible for leveling now.

Why, with the XP buff gone, I’ll just happily grab the greens or w.e as I level or buy off ah as per usual. Heirlooms are a gold sink with little reward now.

they nerfed them for token sales and lvl boosts sales , no reason to nerf the exp part of the set for any other reason , i would have been fine if they nerf the ilvl a bit or something if it affected dungeon loot / pvp

Leveling now is mere day or so 50-60 … full 1-50, 60 will take a while longer but still MUCH shorter than it used to be.

Their removal has nothing to do with a persons lack of patience to level something. They can make leveling take a few hours and people will still keep on with this ridiculous notion that it’s done for ‘’ token sales and lvl boosts’’.

it seems to be busted on the PTR.

heirlooms go to 49, can’t use the upgrade that requires 50, previous upgrade doesn’t work either.

The problem is that back in the day Heirlooms used to be a very awesome and fun thing to get before they were nerfed into the ground. They nerfed heirlooms power because people complained they outleveled zones too fast and they weren’t a challenge. Funny enough saying that with fully enchanted heirlooms and min/max’d alts to do the most damage. Then more recently with this expansion Blizzard decided to further nerf them by gutting their experience buff cause I guess they assumed they were no longer needed at all.

So now we are left with a set of gear that has pretty meh bonuses, aren’t as great as they used to be, and have 0 experience bonus ‘at all.’ So why in the world would I want to even use them other than a slight convenience of, oh it levels with me, especially if the world scales with me and my ilevel anyway. THEY ARE USELESS!

I honestly don’t know why I bother giving feedback tho to this clownfest of a company that isn’t anything like it once used to be.

Yup, I fully remember heirlooms pre-nerf/changes.
It was frowned upon by others in dungeon runs if you didn’t have 'em on sometimes lol - - but it was fun to kinda just level say in said dungeon and wreck the place.

I’m not a tin foil person to an extent but I get why they did what they did - - that said;

Hence why it’s really pointless getting that upgraded unless you want to min max your rested xp or w.e it is now lol

but it is for token , boost sales , just look at the data pre nerf exp? subs were low but some how token sales lvl boosts were at a all time high shareholder/investor relations just type it you will find it they have to show how they are making profit , (pre sexual allegations )google is there my friend , source and all that , stop drinking blizz kool-aid , even if thats not the case heirlooms have been in the game for a long time people invested alot of gold and time , only to get it gutted for no reason what so ever

also google asmongold bc boost , literally full man 40 group of boosted players

granted that’s not heirloom related but , just trying to show you the trend of how people are used to boosting

They aren’t worth it without the xp bonus.
