Wish they would have given us an option to return them for the exact amount of gold we spent on them. Since they decided on a whim to change em.

I level’d 28 chars to 120, bought most the heirlooms.
I think the change is great. Personally I got so tired of using those stupid as hell items, sometimes I just want to grow as I level up and use the damn gear I earn while leveling.
Good riddance, they still have their place but they no longer feel mandatory.

They basically just gave everyone the xp buff, or even a bit more than that, by shortening leveling overall.
I think it’s better, tbh. It never made sense to have an extremely long, boring leveling process that was made only somewhat tolerable by acquiring specific armor pieces.
Yeah, it’s annoying if you really focused on getting all the upgrades, but it will be better for the game in the long run.
Because they aren’t worthless and I want my heirlooms.

Honestly do we make the same gripes about anything else we spend gold on that becomes trivial? Idk. Maybe it’s just me but with how fast leveling is now I don’t have an issue

You got years of use out of them. You’re not getting a refund. 
They still level with you and you can still enchant them, which those enchants level with you, as well. Not useless.

People legit complaining about set BONUSES (that are useful if you don’t plan to level 7 straight hours to 60) on what are essential epic items that level with you.
with the leveling revamp you’re leveling vastly faster now WITHOUT the bonus xp then you were just yesterday WITH the bonus xp AND xp buff, and to boot we have combat/utility bonuses with them so whats really the issue, are you just someone thats never satisfied and wants to level cap in 3 hours or less now?
the bonus xp was a bandaid thrown on the issue of slow leveling way back in wrath and added to as more expansions launched bringing even longer leveling grinds with the leveling revamp that is no longer an issue which means that bonus xp has out lived its purpose

“Hey Blizzard, I want to return this item that I used for many hours and that did its job perfectly.”
“I know it’s being upgraded and leveling will be easier for everyone, but I also want gold.”
I kind of feel like this is just a greedy gold grab from some people. You used the item, it did what it was supposed to do. Nothing lasts forever in WoW, and instead of dropping them like Blizzard has done with other systems, they UPGRADED them, and added more viability. You people are crying over nothing.

The heirlooms aren’t trash, it’s just the bonuses that are really bad. The lack of bonus xp is fine, but instead of reduced rested xp consumption, I think the set bonus should have granted a quarter of a level worth of rested XP upon leveling and the last bonus should make quest xp be affected by your rested status. The burst of knowledge buff is extremely lackluster as well, it should be removed and replaced with a bonus that combines the two 30% reduced xp consumption into a single 50% one…
The increased ooc regen is fine, niche, but will occasionally give value to some classes.

(5) Set: Gaining a level triggers Burst of Inspiration, granting you 25% rested experience.

A leveling set should encourage leveling a character, not encourage it to be parked in an inn for a week and a half between play sessions.

They took an always on buff to leveling and replaced it with several situational buffs that reward you for not playing the game. It’s a downgrade and I’m disappointed that they didn’t listen to any feedback.

We’ve had the looms for 10 years now, I think it’s okay to shelf them after all that, no?

You’ll be surprised how valuable they are when you actually level a toon especially 1-60 in proper launch.
You level so fast now, especially through some of the areas, that you often times just legit have no gear at all for dozens of levels.
Good friend of mine just tested this and he was ilvl 48 when he hit level 48, which I thought was ironic.
Meaning he was going into Shadowlands with gear 100+ item level lower than what our mains would have.
That is when Heirlooms with enchants really shine.
They almost are more useful now that you actually NEED their gear-scaling powers.
