Healers strike

It is a noob trap. I don’t think level 80’s should be queued with anything lower than level 60. It’s still bizarre to see a level 10 killing on DPS over a well geared level 80.

I rolled a new character and noticed it around lvl 40 and I still had mostly gear on from exiles reach and was struggling to tank.

A quick trip to the TW vendor and a couple greens from the AH fixed the issue but a new player might not know better.

Once upon a time, when WoW was just a note on a wall in Irvine, there was another MMO called Dark Age of Camelot, and in said game there was a massive protest.

There was a sit in by 1 race in the starting area outside of the capital; and I believe it was due to naming conventions for that 1 race in game.

As for paying for healers, that was brought up last night and I cannot say how I really feel about it without being banned but I will say this…

…good luck, this falls into screwing the game up for others which is ban-able.

So very true. Unfortunately, too many are not going to research what to do with their toon. I frequently go to Wowhead or Icey Veins to get an understanding of what my toons should be doing.

Spoken like a true DPS who has never healed before in their life. Nah… those DPS players will learn real quick that healing is not as easy as it looks. Tanks avoid your ground based HoTs all the time, DPS stand in stupid, tanks refuse to use defensives, and both keep running out of range/LoS of your heals mid cast. Healers become toxic for legitimate reasons, you all keep making our job 1000x harder than it needs to be by doing stupid stuff.

Also, if you are playing with a priest or evoker and they rescue you from fire… DO NOT RUN RIGHT BACK TO THE SAME SPOT!!!

Honestly I would love to see lifetime DPS players play healer or tank and actually learn everything they themselves have been doing wrong this whole time…

Many don’t know that’s a thing to do either.

Most games don’t require outside resources so early

So very true. I’ve never played a game that requires so much education from outside sources, than this game.

It used to be…you go through low level zones to learn your toon, but now…we choose the zone to speed level and there’s no real time to get adjusted.

I’m not sure if I like the new leveling system, but it had to have been implemented because a lot of players complained.

i think we should deport all the DPS before they start taking tank and healer jobs

They’ll never take the tank jobs cuz that’d require them to do something

If this is about TW healing, I can see where some of the healing issues stem from and that is scaling/tuning. In last week’s TW, in a couple of the dungeons the damage was insane. It might have been hard to keep up if I wasn’t ilvl632 and know my class well. In some pulls I was dishing out over 1m HPS to keep the group alive.

These are not supposed to be healing check dungeons, but casual breeze through content. Don’t get me wrong, I like the spice and keeps me from falling asleep spamming a boring DPS rotation. But for your average healer or person learning to heal? I can see wipes.

Don’t get me started on Mana Tombs and the mana sucking wyrms that’ll drain your bar without breaking a sweat.

Development resources are focused on retention and luring older players back. There isn’t really any focus on bringing new players into the fold. So I try to be a good Sherpa when I can, I have a lower rank in my guild for new players that I’ve taken under my wing and I try to show them the ropes in a supportive environment.

Most seem to drift off to other games but I’ve helped 1 or 2 lifers get their sea legs.

Funny Answer: People would just run BDK with a Ret Paladin, DPS Shaman, Balance Druid, and Augvoker.

Show me the lie though.

I have not DPSed a dungeon in any serious manner in over 4 years.
Sure there’s dumb DPS out there, but do you think they have the awareness of switching to heals to fill a void in the dungeon running community? Of course not. The good players will think of that first and take on that mantle. They will do better than Jimmy’s healer girlfriend on her night elf holy priest hard casting the inappropriate skill half the time and come whine on the forums that people are not nice to her. Wait let me rephrase that, Jimmy will come on the forum to whine on her behalf.

So 1 thing I have gotten from this thread is scaling sucks and should be removed.

I hear Healers strike then my first thought is, “Healer strike? You mean they got a specific healer DPS button now?”

Why run a bdk when you can run a prot paladin and do the same and much more

You are a rare commodity. I try doing guild runs, but we are all in different timezones.

I’m to the point where I just deal with whatever I get and thank the Almighty for the queuing… finally.

Bit too charitable here. But yes, it’s good to learn how to recognize if you aren’t keeping up with the content you’re in.

Personally, I’d be ok with that. Yes, this will reduce the amount of lower level toons speed leveling through TW dungeons. However, perhaps that’s a good thing so they can learn their spec in the game world before taking on a dungeon.
