Depends on level of key. Low keys yes. Push keys… depends what healer. That is true of every role though.
Hi, forum healer here. I love healing and rarely run into toxic players honestly. I don’t do m+ much, but I raid every chance I get and run battlegrounds. Since coming back in Dragonflight after leaving in Cata, I can count on one hand how many toxic interactions I’ve had with other players.
If there is what I consider toxic behavior, I’ll just report and move on. Why bother striking over an issue I rarely encounter and a game I love playing solely for healing?
“Holding someone accountable” is about delivering criticism for something they messed up. It’s most definitely not a fun interaction, but does sometimes have to occur so that person can improve and avoid being held to account for their actions. Again, good ways and bad ways to do that. I agree yours is the more mature and rational position. Criticism should always be constructive. Not accusatory or toxic.
I doubt a healer strike would change guilds running M+ and raid.
I’ll just stop pugging and go with the guild 100% of the time if all pug healers somehow turned into the Borg and decided they were done for a season.
I think we disagree on the definition so I’ll avoid the phrase, which I would prefer to do anyways since I didn’t bring it up.
I’m fine with constructive criticism and helping people learn to play the game. I welcome that sort of mentality to the community.
I don’t think that’s the kind of mentality that OP is talking about surrounding the hypothetical motivation of a hypothetical healer strike.
Dont hurt your back
I think it depends on key level. As a established dps (2600+ io). I don’t stress a bricked key at all. Bad runs happen might give a little gg and drop then get into another group.
What sucks is when you are not established as dps and a bricked key represents an hour or more of burnt time releveling it or spamming groups. There a healer being out of their depth will not receive a kind interaction.
I don’t know, I run PUG’s often and have had to vote to kick healers simply because we wiped more than twice in the run. I don’t initiate the kick, but out of frustration I do vote for the kick because it’s frustrating to keep dying in an instance that should be a breeze.
Healers have a difficult job, knowing from experience. I’ve run a healer evoker and could not keep up with the tank, who was mobbing everything. Or letting the DPS die because they aren’t moving and consistently stand in bad stuff. I’ve been kicked for this, but it’s sort of justified because I couldn’t keep up. However, so should the tank, for over mobbing and so should DPS because they are not self aware.
A strike will do nothing, except conjure toxicity.
In a perfect world, everyone would communicate with the group and there would be more understanding. Unfortunately, we are human and most of the time we just want to get through content and assume everyone is good at their job.
Tank main here, my back is already big and strong. A requirement of the job.
Eh dont really see it nothing i said talks about my opinion. It all relates to the reddit post. People just start forming their own opinions and putting words into my mouth which i honestly just found funny. Because its not like im near 2.9k io and have all the healers to ksm or near it. At all i obviously have no issue with healing or find it a isssue
Since you mentioned vtk I assume you’re talking about TW dungeons?
My back is tiny cuz I’m tiny
You better hope the DPS dont start tanking better than you.
This reminds me of AION dungeon mechanics the only difference is in AION you have more then one of those mechanics.
Yes. However, I PUG both holiday content and TW.
When doing holiday content, I only DPS or Tank.
I tried healing in a Headless Horseman run and I couldn’t heal worth anything. So, I apologized and removed myself from the group.
I bet it will happen, I once was the DPS who had the start tanking better than tanks. The cycle of life will go full circle one day.
This does happen. My husband runs a ret pal and he’s actually had to take over tanking and he threw out heals because the healer couldn’t keep up.
So I have a theory about the TW experience.
You level faster than you get gear so players who don’t notice the scaling can find themselves in a spot where they out level their gear pretty severely.
It seems like a bit of a noob trap really
Shoot tank and healer strike. Yo know how many queue resets I get because of DPS who don’t take the dungeon pops? Or how many do’s take the pop and then sit afk at the entrance. Lame excuses like I needed to take out my dog or pack a bowl. Then the “I’m stoned” crap.
Can’t stand players like that. Sure I’ll go on strike.
