HC server is Pay to Win. How is that Hardcore?

And you know this how? Do you know everyone personally and asked them if they saw it at all?
Go away, Kiddo. Best to be silent than be put in your place with Logic…unless you are just mad at my posts and want to become your true Inner Keyboard Warrior.

The irony.

You just Won the Internet. Grats to you. Does that mean you will stop typing? I’m betting …No.

Yeh that’s my point all these additions people want added could be skirted easily. So why bother, the only thing that can’t be skirted is
die = game over man

That angers you, keyboard warrior.
Touch grass.

Seriously you’ve got issues that you should probably address with a medical professional.

The only reason to support this, is also self-interest. People are going to support what they have self-interest in. It’s the same reason that celebrities don’t care about something till it affects them. Then suddenly they’re donating to “the cause”.

Keep HC free from extra rules, as much as possible. You can not use the AH if you don’t want to.

So now it’s getting personal. LOL
YOU seem to have the issues kiddo. Been dealing with People like you since Beta 2004 in WoW. You are a Dime a Dozen.

I posted on a Forum and you decided you didn’t like the way I posted so instead of constructive feedback you instead tried dictating what I should do.

If you don’t like it, just move on. Running your mouth makes you look Stupid.
You know what they say about STUPID PEOPLE…

Arguing with Stupid People is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are at chess, the pigeon will knock over the pieces, sh^t on the board and strut around like it has won.

I’ll leave it at that.

Have a great day.

Ok pigeon.

It was a yes or no question, its pretty hard to flub that one. Besides, I wasn’t asking you.

Agreed.

They’d be in a little bit of danger but I get what you mean. That’s still a lot of grinding though and its certainly doing something more than someone who gets a whole bunch of assistance to kill half as many green mobs.

Its called Hardcore. Like, hard is in the name and everything. Shouldn’t the people who take that to heart get more kudos than someone who plays fast and loose with the rules, both written and unwritten?

Again, I don’t actually expect this to be a huge problem on a real HC server where death is final. I think after an initial ‘omg fresh server’ rush the HC community will be fairly niche and that’s not to suggest that niche is a bad thing.

Yeah, don’t die is a driving force for everyone but there’s more than one way to get there thanks to the unlimited player trading option. Some people might take the easiest of paths. That’s all Im saying. If that’s the case then I think its totally fine to separate the men from the boys.

Playing devils advocate here but if we say gold buying and boosting is inevitable and rampant that would have both direct and indirect impacts on you. I dont feel like I need to get into specifics. You have to hope HC by its nature severely handicaps, if not eliminate that kind of “option”. I think there’s a decent chance of that being the case.

We’re just going to have to disagree there. One guy did it demonstrably harder than the other guy. That matters to somebody, somewhere. The server and the game its running doesn’t have an opinion, it makes no difference to them. You can freely trade 100k gold from one “player” to another without fail so no, you’re correct - it technically doesn’t matter what you do.

Fundamentally though, it does matter, for example: cheating and what it could potentially mean for your account. At the player level, no one should want to have their accomplishments undermined by a bunch of posers.

Im not debating that, that’s the whole basis for what Im saying - so thanks for agreeing with me. Im basically asking if we can say cheaters aren’t hardcore as actual hardcore players? Im asking because everyone is basically telling me that distinction doesn’t matter when it most obviously does, without question.

Some of the players you are responding to, I’m fairly sure they are either intellectually challenged or trolls.

I felt that chihuahua was a better fit.
A mean, yet fearful, yappy little mutt.

Eh.
I got a special post with their preferred identifier.
Thought it was okay to use it.
Far be it from me to be speciesist.

I disagree with having a central power fixing the economy.
The economy is meant to regulate itself and is generally perfect in that nature.
The smart make it and the dumb pay tuition.

However I do really agree with the overall point. The bots will be a problem.
They wont be the problem as massive on all the other servers, but it will still be massive and huge.
Players on some level will have a way to fight those bots if in the outside world, rogue sees bot, uses vanish to dump mobs on them.
Bots could be eventually programmed against that but its abit of an arms race.

The gank should be accompanied by a complaint about how that player was botting for an extended period of time, as the bot will probably be programmed at some point to run a greifing copypasta to all gms after it dies to try to get anti botters banned.

In general I think the botting problem is the single greatest threat to the game, aside from blizzard themselves, which is why this problem is made so great, as blizzard or really bobby wont pay anyone to police servers with GMs.

The funny thing is the rogue will be more likely to be banned for griefing the bot

From the looks, yes you’ll be required to buy gold. Bots will be everywhere. Gold selling will be rampant, and we know Blizz doesn’t do anything about it.

Get ready to have to stock up on Flask of Petrification for an invite to anything.

This is some type of pipe dream. EVERY version of WoW - ESPECIALLY recent Classic iterations have been utterly consumed by Gold Buying/RMT/GDKP.

There wasn’t a reason to buy gold in Classic, and it was far easier to herb/mine and where bots couldn’t be killed, making it harder to find nodes. Yet now on a server where gathering is actually dangerous and where you could lose your character, you think its suddenly going to get harder to find nodes, there will likely be a lot fewer people farming them so nodes should be easier to find. So no there should be no reason to buy gold.

Also how often do you plan on having your raid wipe and almost dying where you have use lots of petri flasks? I mean if they get used that often, hopefully blizzard will nerf them as that really kills the idea of HC.

Doubt. There is always a reason for someone to do anything.

Too lazy to grind out the cost of a mount?
Wanna get in on those sweet BoE items on the AH?
Power level a crafting profession/buy recipies?

All reasons.

Do we agree though? I don’t know. I think we agree that people can and probably will cheat themselves out of an experience that they claim they want.

I think we part ways about caring and/or believing that it in any way takes away from you, the individual, enjoying your individual challenge.

If that is what you want to do? Go around labeling people as less hardcore and that is the hill you want to fight on. Go have at it. I’m not going to stop you. I’ll giggle when I see it though.

Overall my opinion has changed a bit since this thread and speaking with a certain gnome. Make rules for yourself and follow them. If you feel trading isn’t Hardcore enough, then don’t, If you think using the AH isn’t Hardcore enough? Then don’t. If you feel that others have “cheated” then don’t play with that person.

Most, if not all of the rules I’ve seen people list as real hardcore are 100% self imposed. Go self impose those rules and be the most hardcore that you can be! Then yell it from atop the Org bank about how hardcore you are.
