HC PvP Server PLEASE

I hear you, I hope Blizzard does end up launching a HC PvP server. I’d much rather have official support as I think it could be a tremendous experience.

Well correction, PvP and PvE servers have actually been out since day one in 2004, and even going back to vanilla beta. Not bragging but both things I’ve personally experienced.

One of the most populated servers on Season of Mastery was Jom Gabbar (PvP).

The problem with flagging on PvE servers - something I have extensive experience doing on Bloodsail - is that other players will only also flag if they have a clear advantage on you, most of the time atleast. And getting ganked at a disadvantage is something I accept as a flagged player. It’s something I’ve lost HC toons because of. I’ve also beat the odds and killed the ganker when they are close to my level.

Point being I totally accept getting ganked. It is part of the thrill of why I play HC PvP. The goal isn’t necessarily to raid. I’m just having fun.

how is it “watered down” its HC…

because it removed a lot of the rules that we’re used to from the Bloodsail server, such as no trading and only 1 dungeon.

Anyway, let’s keep focus on advocating for a HC PvP realm for this thread.

Also removed crying like a baby and appealing deaths. So hardcore. So Elite.

yes but those rules didn’t “define what HC is” thats just the rules they had to use to have HC work on a server not designed for it to prevent cheating. HC only means death=game over. On a server where everyone is bound to the you die its over rules, trading doesn’t take away from doing HC, and it is still restricted to 1 dungeon of each per day.

Consensual PvP death appeals have never been a thing. So for example if you are attempting Insane in the Membrane (hc addon /pvp achieve) then if a player of the opposite faction kills you, there is zero chance of an appeal. That is of course assuming you are not a member of HC “Elite” - in which case they get free off-the-book appeals.

I agree and I can’t argue that you are wrong at all.

However I’m sure you are aware of current classic meta, mixmaxing, gold buying etc.

A huge reason why HC was popular was not because of death=delete but to experience a server without gold buying.

In this thread many gave good ideas for PvP, and I think there are many who will be interested, even reading extreme detractors, made me think of ideas that I posted, I share the link

I think a plain HC PvP Realm would be fine. A PvP Realm is somewhat possible considering SoM had PvP but getting into lessening PvP deaths has two problems:

  1. it directly contradicts the core of HC - one life game play
  2. it requires Blizzard to do something besides the bare minimum and it’s getting into wishlist territory.

Let’s just focus on advocating for a PvP Realm for now.
