…and I’ve experienced the negative on Bloodsail. I’ve lost a few characters to orange-red level players. Pretty much no possibility of winning. Although other Alliance players were nearby. Maybe they would have stepped in to help on a PvP Realm. Maybe the horde wouldn’t be so bold venturing around Ashenvale on a HC Realm. Hmm. I really want the full experience, the fear, the defeat, and ultimately the victory of the full experience HC Ruleset PvP Realm.
I understand several players will not want this. The great thing for them is they can play on the Normal Realm HC Ruleset. No one will force them to PvP on the Normal Realm.
Exactly, which is why a PvP server is needed. HC PvP isn’t for everyone but there are people that enjoy and look at that type of journey as the ultimate adventure.
There are people that see this HC PVP experience as fun and love the thoughts of chance encounters even if they are the ones that lose. I imagine a brawl taking place over a random chance encounter with other players that erupts into all out chaos as people’s characters die left and right simply because some people were at the wrong place at the wrong time. People that log in every day don’t know if they will save someone’s life and make a friend forever, or die from being ganked by two rogues in a cave. Even if that person that dies was me, the beauty and heart pounding fun in that Interaction would be enough for me to reroll and go agane. It’s definitely a beautiful thing.
PvP HC is literally the coolest thing I can think of. I’m addicted to it and it’s not even a thing yet.
If you read the blue posts about the hardcore rule set it is very clear that a PvP server is or was not intended. There is obviously interest - and provided it wouldn’t result in lots of demands on customer service - the interest alone may make Blizzard have a PVP hardcore server.
The place to put your case though is not this forum (which Blizzard may rarely read). Perhaps suggestion forum or twitter or using the communication tool on the ptr may have more chance of being read. Your case would be greatest if you had a large number of people sign up to the request/petition for a pvp hardcore server (especially if they have little interest in a pve hardcore server).
No sir, he’s actually trolling. It’s not ad Hominem if that’s what he’s actually been doing, he has made no clear points and was instead mocking why anyone would play. Facts are Facts.
You don’t really have any logical argument against a hardcore pvp server, another thing is that you don’t like the idea, because anyway a hardcore pvp server would be a too hardcore experience, where you are exposed to unfair deaths, but most of us who comment here are attracted precisely by that challenge, for my part I like to go around the world with the risk of being ganked, I love having pvp encounters, I have no major attachment to my character, because I like to level in classic, and I have no problems with re roll and restarts, and what I like most is having to organize with others to deal with world pvp encounters, I think there are few things as satisfying in wow as when 10 players level 20 manage to kill a level 60. However, I understand that players like you are not attracted to this challenge, but that doesn’t make what we are attracted to any less valid.
Please stay on topic, if you have no general points to make then you’re simply detracting from the topic.
I am not interested in your jokes, but they don’t offend me either. Simply stay on topic, and if you have a point on this topic make it so we can debate it.
I honestly think it might be in their plans to release a hardcore pvp server, but not for this release, but later on, especially since the ptr server is called “hardcore normal”. I think it would be good to keep asking for it, I’m already doing it on twitter and in the comments of that youtube video.
We could create a discord to create a hardcore PvP community, who joins?
NGL.
A hardcore PVP server would be great and I would definitely roll there.
But.
No way in hell it works without some form of limitations on level caps and kill/deaths in the open world.
Otherwise, the first guild to 60 would just rule the server and it’s a ghost town in 2 months.
I’ve tried to think of how this could work as hardcore PVP and still be fun… but … damn it’s tough to think of a way to keep a populated server and still have PVP elements attached.
Yes I agree. They don’t want to release everything at once. They’ll wait 'til everyone’s bored of this then they’ll release Soul of Iron (which they already hinted will be the opt-in SSF). Perhaps at the same time they will release PvP - I hope.
