Have the dev's mentioned

I am NOT open to TBC and WOTLK. That’s when WOW went downhill. Either keep classic as is or add new content but no TBC, WOTLK, pandaria etc.

True but if you look at numbers each xpac brought in it was lower than what vanilla brought in alone. People were leaving during TBC and taking breaks because the game started going down hill with smaller raids, welfare epics, arena which lead to what we have now where all the classes are the same.

Why? Don’t want to to play tbc and wrath no one is forcing you to go to those zones no one is going to stick around after everything in vanilla is on farm.

We are literally talking about Classic+ Classic+ is additional content to vanilla which is what this post and many of the posters are talking about such as Mogar. Ion has said no they are at this point have no plans to add stuff to classic.

However with tbc and wotlk added as classic servers, they have said they are definitely open to that if classic goes well.

He’s obviously confused about what we’re actually talking about and keeps accusing me of lying.

I’ve made two statements in this thread.

  1. Ion said additional content to Classic is out of the question, and I linked the article.
  2. That all the Blizz devs are open to TBC and Wrath. Which again is true.

Vanilla had about 6.5 million subs by the time bc went live and 12.5 million by the time cata launched I’d say they brought just as many.

8 million before TBC launched.

This is commonly misconceived. Yes, subs peaked with WOTLK. But there weren’t 10 million new players. A majority was carry over from Vanilla and TBC, then you had new/returning players enticed by a fancy death knight video and the idea of facing the Lich King. The decline started before the end of WOTLK. It could be argued that the expansion both peaked and started the downward spiral.

I think trudging down the same path would be a huge mistake. We know where it leads, and it starts in TBC with arenas (new balance issues) and flying (less interaction on the ground). TBC has the best class balance by far, but brought in to many new issues that snowballed from expansion to expansion.

Classic must remain classic. To much demand to go back on that. If the demand for content becomes strong enough, a new direction must be considered. Someone who gets out of a deep hole doesn’t go intentionally jumping into the same hole.

And I said you are correct the vanilla content as of 1.12 has been already said numerous times no changes will be maid other than tradeable loot and report feature. And we already know that the crew is open to TBC and Wrath.

No your mid understanding the numbers there was 6.5 million at the end of vanilla at the end of wrath there was 12.5 million so yes there 6 million new players between tbc and end of wrath.

TBC brought in a fairly large number of subs. You can’t credit 6 million to Wrath. Let’s be real here…

That’s missing the entire point of my post though.

Seriously who gonna play TBC or WOTLK? You seriously gonna do those old 25 man raids?
Classic is a different game so it makes sense, TBC and WOTLK are retail lite, might as well just play retail.

I didn’t say 6 million came because of wrath I said between Bc and the end of wrath there has been over 6 million players added to the the 6 vanilla had which means obviously the content was great for those 3 versions of wow because it only went up it wasn’t until cata they went down.

Same can be said for vanilla lol wtf you realize current mythic raiders will destroy those raids the first week they attempt them? Not that much different except the raids were better in TBC and Wrath.

Well there in lies the issue.

Many of us who played TBC and WOTLK won’t do it again. So you have a point there.

This is why I think a new direction must be considered.

Look at private servers. Vanilla is the most popular, with TBC well behind it, and WOTLK is barely a blip on the radar. People aren’t pining so bad for it that they join pservers. The smart thing to do is character copy to a classic plus with no level cap increase. You could do a UO power scroll type deal for extra talent points and power creep gear…

Again that’s you there’s plenty who will otherwise there wouldn’t be active private servers for it same can be said for vanilla lots of people in trade and guild chat saying the same about vanilla did once no need to do it again. So I’m still not getting your point.

So, again, what did I lie about?:yum:

Separate servers split the community.

Not for me.

I think I was replying to the other dude who tagged me In his just before you did my bad.
