Has anyone experienced increase combat input lag since 11.0.5 patch?

Same on Garona-US. Reported MS by the client is around 65ms but it feels just like 150ms when I play. Not unplayable but you can feel it.

Same happening on sargeras since patch says im not lagging but there is a solid half second delay on all my abilities

I’m here looking to see if anyone else is having this same issue… I don’t have this issue everywhere in game but it is present anywhere in khaz algar and happens randomly in nerub-ar. The amount of players in the area has no effect on the issue and it is location related and has only gotten worse since patch.
I figure this will work out like every other xpac and things will be optimized once we have moved onto another xpac.

Doesn’t mean anything if you’re being sharded to a west coast server and judging by the ping, I’d assume that’s what’s happened. I play from the east coast and any time play on a west coast server, my ping will increase from and to the same amounts as yours.

Server load is likely the problem. Tons of people in a zone bogs down servers a lot. I won’t turn this into a Ted talk lecture about servers and netcode, but the scaling for adding new people to the same doesn’t follow a linear curve. This in turn causes more server and network load.

It’s also possible that some of you have been sharded to an OCE server and the ping stats hasn’t reflected it yet. It updates extremely slowly and seems to use some kind of EMA(exponential moving average) type filtering so it’s misleading. You can always open up the Windows Resource Monitor and check the network tab to see what IPs your wow.exe is connected to and then compare them to the WoW datacenter IPs(there aren’t that many)

Yeah man I’m getting input delay on abilities when my MS is 23 and my framerate is 120+…
I noticed it on rogue today sometimes abilities don’t even go off other times its fine.
Something is happening on Blizz end since patch because its normally fine. Feel like I’m trying to play the game at 200+ Ms.
Tried turning off all my addons and nothing has fixed it.

I did some testing on Dummies too and you can’t even step>cheap it takes like 1 second after the step for the cheap to register…

Extremely frustrating to play not sure what they have done.

Edit - I’m not talking about what others are getting like huge world lag spikes in the thousands, my home and world are around 20-30 each but there is still input lag.

This!

I’ve been having input lag issues since the release of 11.0.5 even though my ms and fps are fine. Competitive content is absolutely unplayable. Not just the input lag for skills, but also the massive desync with the target. It’s very inconsistent, as for 5/10 seconds everything seems fine until the button press suddenly gets delayed or even doesn’t register.

Edit - Had a quick spin over the EU forums and it seems to be a general problem. Def something wrong with the patch. Blizz… u there?

Yes, having these issues all the time, and it freaks me out healing in mythics: low latency, weird lag.

The lag is really bad since the patch. Especially after reset today it’s been even worse. 225 - 500ms trying to do anything in Dorn.

My internet connection is 18-36ms

Throwing my experience in the ring. Since the patch I have been getting latency/lag issues. Not sure that I could attribute it entirely to latency. It’s no consistent, I have not been able to forcefully replicate it. I will randomly get what seems like a lag spike. Whatever action I’m trying to do will suddenly take over a second as if it were a lag spike and then return to normal. This happens both in the open world and in instances. It is especially noticeable in raids/dungeons though since that sudden delay can cause issues and potentially get me killed.

On a side note, I have also noticed that with the patch, my game performance has completely tanked. Area and fights where my fps was perfectly fine before is suddenly terrible, sometimes under 10fps.

My game is also working terrible after 11.0.5 not only the FPS dropped but I am also having terrible latency which makes the game impossible to play, I am talking about 5000 -8000 latency when usually I have 160 (and have had that for the past month before this patch…)

It doesn’t happens all the time and I couldn’t find a pattern, at start I though it was my internet but after running multiple tests and checking different games it was only wow. I disabled all my addons, disable combat logging, tried the ipv6 settings, etc, etc. and nothing changed.

Today I decied to tried a VPN and it fixed the issue, I suppose it might be routing the traffic to a diifferent blizzard server or something and its not the final solution but at least I can play for now. In case anyone wants to tried it I downloaded the one.one.one vpn (can’t add a link here)

Hope we can get a more permanent solution.

If a VPN is fixing the issue, then it is absolutely a routing issue between you and Blizzard. There are usually several companies between the two points, but your ISP would be who to contact to start working on a resolution.

Yes that is what I am thinking, this is onbly happening at night though, so its weird but well all routing issues are. Do you have a list of IPs or more information on the blizzard servers so I can use that to make a case with my ISP?

Unfortunately, Blizzard does not provide a public list of the server IPs anymore. Most gaming companies, or services in general, don’t do that these days.

How do you recommend I raise this issue to my ISP? what information can I provide?

Basically this.

When we contact our service provider, what exactly do we say, or key phrases? How are we able to ensure the service provider is actually doing the correct thing?

The MVP here is addressing one problem. There are multiple issues here that blizz needs to address. The elephant in the room is the fact that the problem started with the new xpac and worsened with the patch.

If servers are overloaded and players are getting moved around AND it’s causing disruptions, that’s a blizz problem. This ISP stuff is as old as the game.
This input lag and instance disruption stuff is new and real.
