Has any streamers been banned?

I think you guys are confusing the Raid Reset bug with the dungeon layering bug. They are two different issues, one is repeatable the other is not. So to say someone intentionally caused a non-force-able, non-repeatable bug is ludacris.

I do agree, I really do, but remember, we gotta be realistic with our expectations. I am not saying dont be mad, nor do I think they should not be punished. but given the fact that they do bring something to Blizzard, that means they will be treated differently, sure they pay the same sub as you, but how many ppl have you convinced to play vs them?

Again, I do think something should be done, but anything more than a 24 hour ban? I doubt that would happen to them, but I do believe something should be done. I just feel what we want is high expectations on what we will get, if we get anything at all. I truly hope that something happens though, and I do not condone any of the abuse.

Blizzard has a long history of overlooking cheating if it makes them more money. Why would they suddenly stop being hypocrites now?

I think the confusion is on both ends, those defending the streamers and those attacking. I have seen someone say a streamer abusing an actual layer exploit needs a ban, only to have someone respond with quoting blizzard talking about the 2004 instance bug, only to claim its ok cuz blizz said so…

its all a mess, in the end, I think of it this way, if something was exploited regardless of being a streamer or not, they should have some punishment, otherwise its a bug and it happens.

Once upon a time our guild back in vanilla had to kill Vael twice due to a similar raid reset issue. We were told by a GM to kick rocks and re-clear, which at the time was not what we wanted because Vael was a PITA for us. We did not get banned and got to keep our loot. : /

nah they have a long history of inconsistency. Few months ago a ban went out for RMT raid carries was nearly a 2 year ban. XP pot ban some people got a few days, other got a month.

You think it’s inconsistent that people selling things in-game for real money would be punished more severely than people using an in-game exploit to level characters faster?

Just to level? What about gold, resources, and loot?

yes because the RMT bans that went out in Legion were 6 months for some and less for others

I keep seeing people say that streamers cheated, but I’ve yet to see anyone show proof. Who cheated, when, how? If you don’t know for sure or can’t back it up, it’s probably better not to accuse people (streamer or not). Just sayin’.

You also have to consider A) how egregious the violations were, and B) if they already had a “penalty volcano” erupting on their account from previous misdeeds.

I may not like this type of thing (I hate it), but I’m pretty sure Blizz hasn’t labeled it an exploit or banned anyone else for doing it.

a 30 min layer hop cool down should have been there from the start

My point exactly

Be cautious, you can be infracted for speaking against a streamer.

Implying that he isn’t.

Or… no layering should have been there from the start.

God probably doesn’t shower.

Reflect on this, you must.

You are quite wrong if you say it has no effect on me.

If players start leaving because cheating is running rampant, that’s less players for me to party up with to run dungeons. That’s less players to group up with in the world to work together to finish quests. That will start to feel like a mighty empty world.

If I wanted to play a solo game, I’d just play Skyrim, Dark Souls or Pillars of Eternity.

You’re right, the people that exploited don’t directly affect me right this moment. But it affects other players and if they start leaving because they want a fair play environment, I have less people to play the game with later down the road.
