Happy to sign the new social contract, but here's the thing

I once got a 30 day forum ban for saying pretty much this word for word  good luck once this social contract goes into effect because you’re definitely going to need it.

Oh yeah, pretty much that, and I’m sure nothing else and bereft of context.

I have the screenshots if you’d like

I got a shorter ban because during football season, the day of the game, I made a post saying The Raiders are the worst! Go Chiefs!

I thought there might be at least SOME NFL fans in here

I got a ban for saying "you people’ during a discussion with another poster about ff14

Edit: there we go

I have never, not even once, been Silenced, Suspended or banned in any game or on any forum. Ever. I don’t even have any traffic tickets IRL. Not saying I am perfect, I just know there is a time and a place for things and watch my mouth/fingers when I need to. It is really really easy.

Pretty sure I have been able to follow basic polite social norms my whole life and will continue being able to. Especially seeing as my fingers can’t accidentally say something.

Posting about account actions, esp ones that got you a vacation, is a good way to get another vacation. We have a forum Code of Conduct too. https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/256989

It is rather extensive.

Ah good - I see you are taking it off the forums.

as a Raider fan thats crazy man
its all in good fun

I know, which is why I didn’t get into the specifics, just mentioning it because what YOU might think is innocuous isn’t necessarily what a moderator will.

they dont like the truth getting out

doesnt matter they will

still try to report you people will be ban happy just looking to report anything.

it depends how much they want to enforce their new social contract they could be hard on bans as soon as its launched to make a point or business as usual and do nothing.

It’s kind of telling how quickly the conversation turned into “I’ll report you if you do”.

Proof is in the pudding they say.

Not sure what your age is, but I will say polite social norms have changed dramatically in the last few years. I know my social norms dont match what the younguns on this forum believe.

I have never been in trouble either (but I have had 2 tickets). Never had anything in any game. Never had an issues in RL. On forums? yeah enough and over things that no one I have ever known would have considered impolite.

Not like disrespecting your elders and calling them boomer - but thats ok today…

No, they don’t like people trying to bring a one sided debate to the forums instead of appealing it with the people who have actual log files and records. It only causes drama.

BUT if someone really wants to ask questions about it, they can head to the CS forum which serves as an information desk. Often with way more info than the poster might want about their infraction.

Examples

This here is a fantastic blue post from today

Yet here you all are giving players more tools to act on drama.

The game has a feature, it’s called ignore. It solves all of these “drama” problems.

Blizzard participates in one sided debates all the time. Typical hypocrisy

Yeah…I was threatened with a permanent account suspension if I tried contesting it more than twice.

And Marahas can now attest to just how innocuous what I said actually was.

im still trying to process how that actually works to be honest.

Which part? The appeals part?

If so that is the standard response when you have gotten an answer several times about a specific ticket issue. If you keep sending in tickets past a final answer, they consider it GM harassment and can suspend or ban the account for it.
