I went to that server once out of curiosity, realized why i would have despised being on that server on a permanent basis. Its like the “safe space” of wow servers.

For most of legion i mained alliance there. I was lucky i was in a guild that didnt care about all the woke nonsense. But i seen with other guilds and dungeon parties, and trade chat.

It’s okay to be more aware/woke these days but when it ends in unreasonable entitlement and privilege exploitation, then it should also be addressed.
Yeah, I was paying attention. Five years ago, your team elected an orange-haired sociopath to lead the country, someone who had been a morally bankrupt joke since I was a kid.
And turns out, when you go full Capitol-storming crazy, the other team will go full crazy right back at you, and will still not look like the craziest people on the block (which will still be you).
Or maybe it’s long overdue reminder about the rules following a long downward slide in all of the social aspects of this game.
Our main chat channels are hot garbage and have been for years. Players harass others for their performance, their identities, etc. LFD/LFR, CRZ, sharding - all blamed for a worse social environment in this game than it used to have. There’s probably not a single soul who has played this game in the last ten years who has looked at how players get along in this game and thought, “Yep, this all going great!” Given that the game was apparently being run by a cadre of pervy goons for most of the time that you enjoyed it, a reminder to be decent to other people is not unwarranted.
And, you’re right, they didn’t come out of nowhere. You’ve been agreeing to them since 2004.
If whining about it on a video game forum is the best defense you can muster, they’re already in the city.
And, soon, you will probably be paying them for the privilege of whining at them from outside the city gates.

Oh trust me, people can be completely toxic in a low key way that they new social contract will never cover… For example if someone is doing really bad DPS, instead of just calling them out for it they will instead be like “Dude, that is some sweet DPS you have there. How did you get so good!”. Not only will they be drawing attention to their low DPS but they will be doing it in a mocking manner that will read as them complementing you.

There’s some evidence, but nothing concrete. That the Phoenicians, Hebrews, Chinese, and Egyptians were here far before Columbus and Leif Erickson. But like i said no concrete evidence.
