Happy to sign the new social contract, but here's the thing

You have an odd definition of fighting. lol

Is this all about the contract that just wants people to be nicer to each other? Why is this even such a big deal? People are so extra. Just don’t be a jerk and you’ll be fine, problem solved. My God people. I’ve never been on forums that had such trolling whiners on it, ever.

Y’all making Twitter look good, that’s how stupid making a big deal about this contract is.

I remember a quest I did: Elwyn Forest, November 2005, my character slayed a guy in his house, the kid walking in and out the house the whole time was totally all right with that.
How the /spit emote can be disturbing when we know that there’s atrocities happening all over Azeroth and beyond?

Tbh, I don’t mind the social contract  , everytime I see an emotional drama I observe or I move away because it’s a waste of time, energy and ALWAYS counter-productive

Yes but some people want to feel :innocent: , I’m not convinced that everything is gonna be all right :smirk:

I think you need to come up for air from the extreme exaggerations you seem to have applied to WoW and to even me.

In real life, and even in WoW, not everything is a right or left wing rabbit hole.

The basics remain. Either you can treat others politely in public, or not. This is not hard. If you can’t, then this might not be the game for you.

If you want I could suggest some windmills to tilt at but that would take some google fu.

And the tyrants will get to define what “polite” means. The Tyrants will change that definition when it suits their needs. “politeness” will be weaponized to favor of one group over others.

It happens EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Even worse, I couldn’t form a group to fight an elite. I had to form said group (everyone had to return to Oribos) then jump back into the Maw. smh

:dragon: :ocean: :dragon: :ocean: :dragon: :ocean: :dragon: :ocean:

You seem to define anyone that does not agree with you as a tyrant. Despite wanting to openly abuse others…

This was a great reply from another thread so I will quote it here.

The only one “Abusing” others in this case is the Community Council. You’ve sat here all day defending this Struggle Session nonsense.

Your quote is garbage.

“Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”

You: Agreed to the rules for WoW including not using hate/ful speech, slurs, etc going back to 2004.

You also: OMG WoW is reminding of us rules I agreed to!

You have no leg to stand on. Your only option is to leave if you don’t agree. Games are not some sort of democracy.

Also, I am Mirasol, a tech/cs MVP for almost 10 years and also now CC. I do not represent the whole CC and you know that. Stop trying to paint false pictures. You keep doing that. It does not work.

Be nice. It is not hard.

Misgendering an imaginary WoW character is NOT hate speech. No matter how many times you try to say it.

Not agreeing that being white makes one a racist is NOT hate speech.

You are the representative of the CC, a symbol of it position on this topic. You’ve spent the entire day defending the “social contract” like some red guard of the cultural revolution. You have yet to deny any of it.

NOBODY believes you when you make these absurd claims of “just be nice”.

If this where just about “being nice” the current chat rules would suffice.

Instead we get this Marxist “social contract” nonsense that literally right out of the Mao oppression handbook.

I have never, even once, addressed “imaginary WoW” chars or their genders. YOU are the only one who has ever brought it up. Period. Not me.

I have also not brought up the red herring race stuff. ONLY YOU!

Stop trying to inject outside fringe politics into a game. What I get from your statements is that you want to have a discussion about gender and race and are upset I won’t.

Seriously - being kind is a social norm across the world, and has been for since humans existed. Enemies are the ones we treat badly. It has nothing to do with politics.

I believe her.

I also believe you’re a paranoid loon.

Has anyone taken you to task in game for being white? How do they even know you’re white?

Has anyone taken you to task in game for misgendering anything, real or fictitious? Frankly, if you have friends, you don’t sound like the kind of person who’d have the kind of friends who would care about misgendering anything. You stick to those people in your little bubble of awful.

I can see why you’re scared of the social contract: Worst self is the only self you’ve got.

This thread needs to be burned to the ground for all the paranoid stupidity in it.

The social contact is a positive thing. They need to do this on a monthly basis. The community has gotten too toxic and this will help.

Notice how the representative for the CC wont just say…

“No you are not going to get banned for misgendering someone’s character, that would be outside the scope of the social contract.”

Talk about red herrings. This has nothing to do with “being kind”. Nobody has this problem in WoW. There are already tools for people to deal with social situations that they don’t feel comfortable with.

This is about controlling speech. It is a tool to silence and excommunicate your political enemies. This “Social Contract” will only be use for one thing and it’s pretty clear where you stand on the subject.

Have you not been paying attention for the past five years? This “Social Contract” nonsense that the vast majority of player never asked for didn’t just come out of nowhere. It’s right out of Chairman Mao’s Cultural Revolution handbook.

The Marxists are at the gate. This is how they get into the city.
