on right click on your chat tab the setting to turn it all off are right there.
Even in real life some crazies think saying hi is sexual harassment. Im not going to be surprised in the slightest if saying hi or no or whatever non offensive words gets one squelched at best, banned at worst.
I know you are frustrated, but WoW does not allow players to use profanity, even masked profanity, at all. It does not matter the context. IF reported (and that is an if), they action for it. It is just uncommon to get reported for mild use. Kind of up to the players. You ran into a situation where you used it in a public group situation hence the reports and the account action as Kalv explained.
As tempting as it may be, avoid profanity, slurs, personal insults, etc. Also real world politics and religion are bad topics that always cause issues. Hence the old fashioned guidance to avoid those topics at a dinner party if you want peace at the table. heh. In the case of a game, they are not relevant anyway so that is pretty easy.
Unless you are circumventing the ignore feature to do it, then no, not going to get you in trouble. If someone has you on Ignore and you decided to find a way to still pester them, then yes, that could cause an issue even if it is something polite.
If you ask people to report you though for something friendly - to abuse the report system - then that does result in a penalty. Abuse of the reporting system is something Blizz can monitor. It is also something you can point out on appeal if you ever did find yourself in that situation.
You keep lieing to yourself all you want.
As for me and many others, the social aspect of this game is dead.
But it does bring out the worst in some players.
I know I have fell for it saying âman I am going to regret it if I dont do thisâ before
At this point Iâm just waiting for M$ to take over. Blizzardâs current customer service is atrocious and M$ has a direct line you can use if you arenât satisfied with one of their companies and they definitely investigate.
If being social for you is doing something against the rules - as in using profanity, slurs, etc, then it really is best if you donât participate. This seems like win win.
Nobody is asking you to do anything other than be a decent human to strangers in a video game.
They took over minecraft and so far those players like the direction. Guess weâll see.
imagine if they had all FOMO items back for 1-2 weeks on the celebration week
that would be great.
and if they have the items give them a recolored one or have a updated version so that they would not be given the finger.
Dont assume kid. Profanity isnt even bad, its just a word. Either way you missed my original point. Then again what should i expect from a cc member whose about as useless as blizzard. Done with you.
I donât get myself involved with that. I do not care about anyoneâs politics. I get annoyed when Horde mercs get together to kick people out of my battlegrounds because itâs funny to them.
I canât help getting into fights with people like that. Itâs in my nature. So I donât understand why Iâm being discriminated against for being who I am.
Whyâs your way better than mine? You canât always avoid confrontations. Sometimes you got to fight.
If i said it was my nature to speed i donât think the cops would let me out of a ticket.
I doubt Iâll kill anyone by saying the f-word, though. You need to tell Blizzard that they need to define what they mean by harassment; I define harassment as a repeated action toward someone.
If I call someone âbadâ once, is that harassment? I need to know. And then Iâll happily disappear from your pretty world because thereâs no place for me in it.
Your postings are rude and obnoxious enough, are you trying to get reported?
No you really donât. But Iâm pretty sure you knew that.
Yet, here you are fighting with me. You probably get excited to click report whenever you see a bad word in the chat. And now you earned yourself a permanent ignore because itâs the safer option. Farewell!
What are you talking about?
âSJW, therefore open-world?â The leap in logic is baffling. Iâm kind of mentally tired today so maybe I missed the actual connective thread that makes this work but otherwise uhh⌠what?
My ignore list is full. I need a bottomless ignore list. Not sure why that isnât default honestly.
This is a videogame.
What are you expecting from a game called World of WARcraft?
War isnât âpositive experiencesâ and âhappy feelingsâ
Get over yourself. An MMO is a game, not real life.
The players who follow this video gameâs rules that they agreed to would be over themselves. They have put the game before themselves.
The ones who refuse those rules, who are preemptively nailing themselves up on crosses as martyrs to crap jokes and the ability to make it to adulthood without learning how to read a room, are not quite over themselves yet. They are also the people for whom their ârealâ selves appears to be the biggest problem.
