If its a core race, has to be anything but an elf.
We have plenty already to choose from in both core and allied races.

Alliance can have half elves and whatever elves. Give horde Night Fae and Saberons.
Delete all playable elves.
Give elf-playing people free faction/race changes.
Then World of Warcraft will be saved.
I promise you blizzard, when all elf races are all removed as playable, then World of Warcraft will once against be the biggest MMORPG out there.

Could be any elf race and any other race. What happened to the half orcs like Garona? Doesn’t fit into your plan to elf-in-ize the Alliance?

Garona is supposed to be half orc half draenei.
Unless blizzard changed it after the Warcraft movies.

Grumbles should have a NPC in he gnome starting area where he passes out cookies

Reason why I choose to request it to be a core race is so it can get a unique skeleton/posture.
Besides the arguement that they can inherite a core portion of alliance story.
I am chill with those mixes, but this thread is about half elves.
Alodi is also a half elf and he uses the human model.

Only way I could see Half Elves being a thing is pretty much a Human Customization Option for Humans in terms of Half Elf Ears and etc.

I doubt this will happen though, it’s better as a standalone race.

Can we have irrational elves like pi elves or Euler’s Elves? Oh! Square Root of 2 elves!
Well if you really want to waste another allied race on a near human/elf.
Are they anything like quarter horses? Maybe that’s what they ride. 
How about micro elves
Like micro pigs and cows but fully proportional
Like 4 inches tall and talk with a squeaky voice
