This thread has gone totally stupid. Holy cow.

Yes, it’s a scam.
Yes, it stinks.
No, looks like Blizzard will not do anything about it.

Should they? If anything they should address it by limiting AH buyout prices to some factor of bid price, nothing else.

the whole reason the thread is 1400+ posts is because 3-4 people will NOT admit it is a scam. lol

1,500 replies later, I would say your guildie is now forum-famous. Reading most of these responses I would guess that’s not necessarily a good thing.

But they will IF you framed it how I stated not how these slimeballs put it.

there’s really nothing sadder than someone defending an AH scammer and using the TOS as their defense. It’s weak on a multidimensional level lol

I’d say there are some forum famous dbags floating around as well now

I believe the latest response from the GM should provide you the clarification you require.

Please, Please, Please can we let this dead horse rest now.

We’ll see what the blue has to say about my response.

I’m Just illustrating how it’s a dishonest tactic and does fit the intent of a scam.

In any other store/vendor you would not see two of the same item listed next to each other at vastly different prices. And the entire intent of posting at that price is to fish for some on to haphazardly buy it.

Except it isnt it very clearly shows the price. You dont buy stuff irl without looking at the price why make a exception in a game world? If the price shows 5g bid 700g buyout thats the price its listed for and it takes 5 seconds to confirm. Im not denying the fact its scummy but its not a scam.

Wonderful, we have blue confirmation that you people lack morals:

And at the end of the day, that’s all I ever wanted.

Ok go to the CS forums and explain it exactly how you see it. Let the Blues do a full investigation into the matter. They can see behind the scenes so let them fully investigate the issue.

They won’t because this issue has years of Blue precedence on it. There is no scam, there is no issue and Blue will do nothing because it’s not an issue.

But please feel free to explain this how you see fit.

Morality of subjective and blizzard doesn’t regulate it.

If you walk up to a barrel of 99 cent apples you might not realize that one of them is actually marked up to 100 bucks and then breeze through the prompt at the self check out. And it would pretty much be a scam to do that to a customer, regardless of legality. That’s all I’m saying.

Until you point out the lie, I’ll assume honesty.
Until you can point out the rule of etiquette broken, I’ll assume decency.

Until then… cope.

Poor analogy, there’s an opportunity for fraud in a BARREL marked with one price and an item of seemingly identical quality being within that barrel but somehow worth substantially more.

The AH has no such barrels.

But but but I want this to be a scam so I’ll argue with you until you change your mind.

My only argument is to detach from reality, edit your posts to make them say things they didn’t, attack you, and refuse to accept evidence that contradicts my argument.

You can’t win because I refuse to accept reality.

You should probably reread your own quote, and show the entirety:

So as Blizzard plainly states, these are not scams. As for the moral implication, Blizzard isn’t even saying people lack morals. Merely posting on the AH, which is all you can point to, is not the problem. If, and only if, someone decides to tell you that they intend to scalp you can you start putting moral failings on that person.

Otherwise the 1s bid, 1,000g buyout single piece of Runecloth is entirely devoid of morality and is not a scam.
