Guild Wars 2

guild wars 2 combat system is indeed great. also i like that i don’t have to chase equipment all the time. moreover the pvpvw is well done. i wish they had dungeons instead of fractals and i would gladly pay a sub if it would make it better

Okay so I’ve bought gw2 on release, played it for 3-6 months, and quit. Haven’t been there since.

I’m not sure how to pinpoint the problem with it.

Jumping puzzles were awesome.
WvW was fun.
Chicken races were dope.
Armor dye system is great.
I guess it lacked competitive content.

And the fact I had to buy new expansion when everyone got one I bought for free. And it wasn’t cheap. And not in way of getting it for free when you buy new expansion, but literally f2p, could just play content I paid for for free.

i agree with all this, but the gemstore buying gold, would be characterized as “pay to win” from the wow crowd :rofl:

WoW tokens are p2w.

GW2 gemstones were for cosmetic stuff in shop iirc.

I played early so I got hundreds after getting lucky on reroll thing and got over a thousand gold selling some legendary precursor. I probably still have lot of gems there. Cba though.

Poor balance.
Few competitive contents.
Uninspiring story.
Low player base, high players leaving the game.
Financial problems.

They still have a chance, The end of dragons, this thrid dlc will either make or break the game.

Oh yeah, story too. Story was uninteresting.

It’s about same level of interest as Shadowlands story. :grimacing:

i would have to disagree with the low player base

Likewise.

There are a lot of people playing Guild Wars 2. But they’re spread out all over the place as there are a lot of zones, so you may only see a small number of players at any one time. WvW always has a lot of players in it, likewise for the rest of their PvP, and open-world content has a lot of players engaging in daily content + murdering world bosses.

you can find a group to zerg all the time. the community is super supportive

No thank you. I am sticking to WoW and FF14, and may dabble in New World more.

yea, that’s one the best things about gw2: the community is friendly and helpful. rarely i have seen trolls like say…in wow where people are just plain awful to each other. only times there is nasty people is in pvp but that’s pretty much every pvper in any game lol.

GW2 is a great game for those with an honest interest in a completely different MMO philosophy. There is no constantly raised level caps in GW2, the expansions are actual content be it story, dungeons, mini features etc. You don’t worry about gear score or anything like that, it’s more of gear just having unique different affects depending on the zone and content but not outright making all your accomplishments from previous expansions useless.

The end of dragons trailer look really good

I love GW2, it’s just a fun game. So much about it was just so well done. The only thing I think WoW has over guild wars is endgame content that feels more rewarding. That and guild wars broke their WvW system which was IMO the best thing in the face when it launched.

How’s the population?

Its definitely my go to game outside of my main FFXIV game

That’s planned for next expansion.

It was great

I would but idk what the mount system is

Unapologetically, I’ve dumped more money than I had to into the Gem Store, and I’m in huge opposition of these fickle store typologies in games. Bottom line is the game is good enough to warrant some extra money from me. I could not say the same for WoW. Not even close.
