Yeah the game play completly different but its fun to see how the map evolved. Cause they used the same map but with 400year i think after. so u can see vestige of the past which is pretty cool i find
Oh? Not fast enough? WoW always felt like āmash the buttons harder with the best metaā whereas GW2 has a separate loadout for gear. Butā¦ againā¦ Iām a dirty, ugly heathen pvp casual that enters pvp with āOmg this is gonna be fun and I canāt wait to see how I die.ā So thereās that
No I think it is probably more like the complexity of the combat. I also donāt think I ever got very good at guild wars pvp tbh, so maybe I have yet to fully understand it.
Like I said I canāt really place the reasons why.
Oh sir, now with the legendary armory every character and build slot that can wear or use a legendary item can equip it at the same time. Four builds on my scrapper, all with a legendary armor set assigned to them with different stats and runes.
interesting mounts, maybe. the skills each individual mount has is pretty cool.
havent looked into it. /shrug
qol or aesthetic only.
from what ive heard, this is mostly true, but because outside of fractals gear is kinda just handed to you for almost nothing.
anyways, gw2 is a good casuals game. sure it has some endgame content but nothing with real meat to keep players looking for a challenge engaged.
graphics rub me the wrong way. it was originally launched to be the wow killer with state of the art graphics meant to woo people over, except those gmes always fall flat on theirface after a few years when the newest state of the art graphics makes it look like runescape.
i wont say wow has good graphics, but its graphics will be (largely) timeless because its not trying to look pretty for anyone
but i feel you. wow is doodoo. im one of the people who attempted ffxiv two or three times in the past but always failed to get into it because its sub-level 50 gameplay is veryā¦not good. due to recent wow events though i stuck it out and its a ton better at later levels. classes start actually getting depth to them past 50 and dungeons start getting some mechanics.
The characters in the story are awful. Launch gw2 characters, excluding trahearne, were much more enjoyable.
I guess rytlock is still ok though but IDK what the deal with him is post PoF, I havenāt kept tabs.
Mounts being so mechanically different mean you will almost excluively use one or two over the rest. The new dragon mount is a testament to this.
Everything else I loved, I think I put in like 2k hours before HoT launched but elite specializations bring their issues as wellā¦ I miss classic thief dearly.
So you mostly played the base game and have little to no experience with anything since, never saw the rest of the characters get developed or stayed up with the story? As for mounts, depending on the area each has their merits.
3 days left on my wow sub, going to let it lapse until Blizzard can get their act together (if they ever do, spose weāll see). The lawsuit is terrible, all the drama, and not to mention SL story doesnāt even feel like Warcraft anymore.
Flew around for 2 days farming arcane crystals in Unāgoro crater, and it made me realize how far we really have strayed from the original feeling of the game. From slaying incredible massive elementals, dragons, and the undeadā¦ To this really broken and strange Shadowlands story that doesnāt feel like it fits together. Was honestly excited for the covenants, but they blew it.
PVP has been a mess as well. Iām a few weeks late stepping in to this new season, and I feel like it is going to be an absolutely atrocious grind of being constantly 1shot until my gear is once again up to par. It just isnātā¦ fun anymore. And I guess thatās where the decision to finally let it go has come from.
Iāll miss it, but it isnāt what it used to be.
Anyway, that turned into a crazy rant.
GW2 is incredible. I love it still. Thatās where Iāll be until the Warcraft universe manages to go back to its roots.
Once you get your gear, you basically live in a content drought. Not only are dungeons mostly inactive, but they are the same ones from 2012. Fractals are fun, but they rarely add anything new to that. BGs are the same everywhere, but there arenāt new maps very often. Raids arenāt released every major patch. The game becomes 4-6 months of waiting for the next patch, which is just a bit of story an a new map. Imagine getting the Korthia story, then doing the same invasion for 4 months, and thatās all thatās there to do.
Unless youāre really into GW2 PvP, or you donāt mind doing the same thing for years to come, you will get bored with the game from time to time, and probably walk away for a while. Itās nice that their older content is still viable (one of the best things really), but that also means they donāt have to come out with as much, because they can fall back on the fact that old content IS still viable.
