I understand very well the link you provided.
But even though there are hate groups who are christian and many who have taken on those ideas and symbols for their own it doesn’t mean that everyone who is cosplay or rp the crusaders are involved with hate groups.
It’s possible but I don’t think we should be assuming.

The tabard is just a generic crusaders one. If I was going to claim it was referencing a hate group it would need to have a guild name to match. The imagery is just too vague to claim it means something other than a crusader to me.

The cross was used by many different countries.
The teutonic knights cross has nothing to do with hate.
