heh people talking about sharing accounts have no clue what it would take to “share” an account nowadays.
i wanted to “share” my nephews account to let a friend level it a bit while i basically ran him through instances when my computer couldnt run two clients. this was back in wod mind you.
i had to respond to 10 different emails saying it was ok for him to play from his location.
finally it went through but when i got the account back from him i had to do another 5 to say it was ok to do it from my own location where the account was created.
that was in WoD. im sure the system is even more robust now.
its funny people think they can just share all wily nily .
It wasn’t “10 emails”, and it wasn’t like that at all.
My Comcast cable modem had an odd problem where I couldn’t always log in if I was in Ironforge, so a friend had to move me out of the main area. I could go BACK there, but I couldn’t log in there. It was a known issue affecting a lot of people. I got a new modem a few days later and all was OK.
I have explained that previously, but it seems that even the modicum of effort needed to do a simple search is too much for you.
I simply refuse to let others play the “Let me use your achievements (or lack thereof) to dismiss you and any valid point you make” with regards to those valid points I make.
Feel free to go ahead and keep attacking me because you cannot refute that your arguments have been countered and your desire for any number of non vanilla QOL conveniences to be added to classic has been brought to light, though.
lol im not letting people remote into my computer or giving out my ip adress . friend or not thats just asking to be compromised.
im saying its not as simple as all these people think it is.
and yes i had to respond to 10 emails from the 10 different attempts he made to log on the account.
he also played it for a few weeks so when i tried to log into it i had to try 5 different times and do the code in the email each time till it decided to let me on the account.
believe it or not i dont care. just know that its not ez to just “share” an account.
I’d probably setup a private proxy-server “in the cloud” somewhere and use that as my point of access for such things. Then again, maybe not, my ping was high enough as things are last time I signed in, don’t need to be adding more to it.
while its true you can come up with soulltions but for just the avg person they wont be able to magically share an account quickly and without aggrivation.
So it seems. I guess the “No changes!” crowd can start complaining about that too when they discover Blizzard has upped their game on account security over the years?
