The answer is actually YES, but you knew that. You just cannot answer the question honestly without hurting your goal of seeing guild banks added to classic.

I suspect that even the blues can look at the question I asked and see that the answer is “Yes”. That one little change led to all those others.

One little QoL feature added in Vanilla led to more QoL features being added in TBC, Wrath and one of these changes is Dungeon Finder. This started in 1.9.0 with the chat channel LFG. They expanded upon it in TBC and again in Wrath which eventually turned into a close resemblance of the system in retail they have today which teleports players at a click of a button. No interacting with players, no exploration.

What is an MMORPG with QoL features? A single player game. Classic World of Warcraft is an MMORPG.

I agree. In fact, I already mentioned changes to the vanilla group finding system leading to those LFD and LFR systems we have today.

Those apparently don’t count, though, because it would be “impossible” to level without those changes. At least that is what some people seem to be claiming.

Last I checked I was in an RPG with lots of people, hence MMORPG.

Regardless QoL has little do with the difference between a single player and an MMO.

I agree that retail has, for all intents and purposes, become a solo game in a multiplayer world.

That still leaves it in the category of MMO, though.

When that QOL removes the need for players to be social, it has a lot to do with the difference between a solo game in a multiplayer world and a more interactive multiplayer game.

I guess it is labelled an MMO because a bunch of people are on the same sharded realm, all ignoring each other while they farm mounts and xmog gear.

Yep. MMO simply means “massive multiplayer online”. There is nothing in that definition that says that those players have to actually interact in any meaningful manner.

Then you should be embracing guild banks as they encourage the guild to work together and share resources.

Vanilla guilds work together and share resources despite guild banks not being there. If it aint broke don’t fix it.

No more than a system of guild bank alts set up to maximize its effectiveness does.

The difference is that guild bank alts were part of vanilla, while guild banks NEVER were.

I can tell you that in the guild in which I was a member, there was a lot more interaction among guild members with regards to guild resources prior to guild banks being added than there was after those guild banks were added.

I’m sure that you will tell us all that you had a different experience, though.

except it was broken in vanilla, I saw that 1st hand as I found out our guild bank alt owner was using the guild bank alt as a personal go fund me, and it didn’t get found out until a YEAR of him doing it because of the fact out of game logs can easily be edited to LIE. only reason he got caught by me was because he took to much devilsaur leather out at one time, then used ME as a scape goat. I was blacklisted because logs were not kept properly because they were being edited to lie. and guess what? he kept scamming the guild for free gold while I was suffering the punishment he deserved.

guild bank alts were definitely broken in how easy they were to abuse due to out of game logs.

but you keep believing their wasn’t an issue just because you didn’t experience it personally, just keep ignoring it until it IS your problem.

well maybe your guild didn’t use guild banks properly?

you probably had a guild that left it as a free for all anyone can get in, OR you never played with them to begin with.

Except that it was or guild banks would never have been added in the first place. Which anyone who has actually played with both can tell you work much better and in fact improve the unity of the guild.
