Most things that were added in later parts of WoW also had strong arguments and justifications for being added. The addition and argument for guild banks was completely valid. The balance changes were also completely valid. Why not give paladins a taunt? That’s not purely a QoL change either. Same with the complete removal of the debuff limit.
Heck, why not just redesign it from the ground up and make it “what vanilla could have been” instead of “what vanilla was”. Because there was a lot of bad designs and things that were overlooked or were simply limitations of the system that were all later corrected.
For what its worth. I vote no. You say it is the least impact, but it actually has an impact on the economy allowing people to horde. The economy was driven by the lack of gold and resources, guild banks would negate at least half that equation.
They will allow guilds to horde more resources in a single area. It WILL make things easier… That being said I hope the devs keep the spirit of the war effort and change the mats so we do not know what it is we need to farm
To a point… but you run into a math Problem after that…
Vanilla Bank
28 slots
7 Bag Slots x16 slot bags
140 total bank slots
x12 toons (assuming a full alt account dedicated to a guild bank)
1680 total bank slots
Guild Bank
98 slots per tab
x6 tabs 588 slots (assuming no unlocks of the 7th and 8th because achievements are not a thing in Vanilla and that is how you unlock them)
x12 toons (assuming a full alt account dedicated to a guild bank)
7,056 slots for a single account running a guild bank…
Plus all of the individual banks for each one of those guild bank toons you have a total of
8,736 bank slots
Please tell me how this IS NOT going to break Vanilla…
A guild would need to operate 5 FULL accounts worth of Bank alts just to almost match the number of Banks Slots a single account could hold if Guild Banks were put into the game…
Total Cost for Bank Slots Since it was Mentioned;
Assuming an entire account was used to create a bank for the guild.
Bank Alts: 1,333g 20s (x5 if you wanted the same amount of slots) 6,666g. 3.9gps
Guild Banks: 112,000g for all tabs 113,533g 20s (plus individual banks) 12.9gps
*Note this is not including the cost of mooncloth bags as it is freely assumed that the guild will provide those to the bank as is standard. The cost incurred is upon the individuals providing the bags or mats to make the bags.
*Note Note I will be running an entire account for a guild bank. I would LOVE to have guild banks put in the game. But it is not a vanilla thing and even as someone who would LIKE to see guild banks because it makes my life easy, it is not a Vanilla thing… so do not put it in the game.
Your ignoring the gold cost for all those bank slots, the fact you need multiple people to help even make a guild to have the option to make a guild bank
Your also ignoring the character bank alt bag slots I. Your calculations, the fact the mailbox can be used to store multiple items in it.
The gold cost for those 12 guild banks on that account would cost over 100k gold.
So if it ever happened it would be done well into classics life where gold is hyper inflated and it would actually help the economy at that point.
