Can confirm. Buddy of mine lost 140k from this, and lots of people have it way worse.
Oh wow, not cool.
The issues are vast and undying. Sounds like a terrible boss we can’t beat.
Spaghetti code is the hydra of buggy content.
Sure, it starts with 9 bugs, but each time they cut off a head, 2 more bugs pop up in its place.
There is also this toy which is easier to get.
I…totally forgot this existed.
We need action on this issue.
If they mail the GB stuff to the GM, if you have one of the bank toys (Katie Stampwhistle, the bird perch, etc) you could drop it right by any guild bank.
BUT! This thread never shall!
Give us back our stuff, Blizzard! Rabble rabble!
I haven’t looked at the TSM data so I’m not sure of the structure of that. The ArkInventory data had a section for each guild, and I wrote a short python script to parse that and then bumped the backup and current files together to get the status.
Blizzard finally made a comment on this.
Looks like we might we a few items back but be won’t get everything. And we can pound sand…
Yeah, I am stunned by that. If people missing gbank items aren’t made whole, this will 100% be one of the biggest Blizzard CS failures in the history of the game.
I’m not happy about it myself. They could have handled the entire situation far better than they did. I’m reserving final judgement until I see what I’ve gotten back, and to see what others have recovered.
But hey, I just got my delayed On Brand achievement, that makes everything better! /sarcasm >.>
Great they finally posted but it’s still just a “soon”. I am not sure how any guild would know when they have received everything they are going to get. What if a guild gets nothing restored for example?
If people start seeing those GM mails, please provide an update out here with that fact and how much you think you got back overall (25/50/75/100%) and maybe the kind of items that were or were not restored?
It would be nice if we can understand if there is a pattern to things they could not restore. For example, was it all a certain item type? Was it people that kept using their banks? Etc…
I just saw a blue post about GB’s but I was on my phone! There’s some info out there.
edit: It’s in General Discussions.
Honestly surprised we finally got a response. I had tried to contact wowhead a few times, since I was stunned that they never said anything. Guess when it’s something really serious and important; not really worth their time (sorry, just still very upset about this).
Since the article says “Due to how some of the data was lost, we’ve reached a point where the result will be an incomplete restoration for some guilds, and we do not have a way to restore the remaining missing items for them.” does this mean this wasn’t really a visibility issue after all ? I had a feeling that was roughly the case, going off by what some things were said in the EU post. This is highly unfortunate.
Checked all 4 guildbanks, never saw any items get restored (unlike what some people mentioned in the thread previously) and no mail yet. Guess i’ll be waiting on that now.
I hope I’m wrong, but it feels like a weird announcement.
Now I’m worried. lol X)
The GM of the GB is supposed to get their items mailed. I dunno if that’s supposed to have happened already? X) I’m in big coz my poor dude does not have mail. xD
Everything I lost was mogs. I have a sneaking suspicion that I won’t be receiving most, if any, of it back.
It’s nice to FINALLY get some “official” acknowledgement, and I don’t mean to be rude directly to Linxy, but talk about the epitome of “Too little, too late”
