What to entice people to join one faction over another.

And if the other purpose was to get people involved more with Warmode

Not so much to get people to join one or the other, or to get non-PvP players involved, but primarily to bring back the already established PvP Alliance players who were turning Warmode off due to being vastly outnumbered.

if that was the intended purpose Blizz had in mind to “balance the factions” That has never happened nor do I ever see it happening personally

At the start of Warmode, the Horde and Alliance were very close to balanced. Bliz described it as ‘competitively balanced’. It was only after it began to swing severely in the Horde’s direction that they created the incentives to entice the Alliance back. Now that the bonus is down to 15%, the A:H ratio must be getting back to a competitive normal.

I don’t want to get too off topic. I don’t want to interleave Warmode discussions in a support based thread (community/guild chat issues).

. It’s not so much the quest as the factions not being balanced

The factions are more balanced this week than they have been in a very long time. This is why the AOO odds quest is not available, and why the Alliance only have a 5% higher buff on gold, war resources, and rep. I assure you the fights I just finished in Volduun at the assault were spectacularly fun. I killed a lot. I died a lot, and there were at least 3 epic battles had.

if the quest could possibly not return ever, then why introduce it in the first place??

As an extra incentive (wrong incentive in my opinion but they ilevel got nerfed what can you do) This is why it was added however. It just took this long to get a much better balance in WM.

What to entice people to join one faction over another.

Faction happiness, appearances, story? For example, no matter how it goes, I will never play Alliance. I started day one on a PvP server…where you could only be Horde, or you could only be Alliance. At this point I have no interest in ever switching over. Everything I have is from the Horde side.

there are people on what used to be defined as a PVE server that have no interest in ever pvping thus throwing off the “balance” for PVP & warmode

And there are a lot of people on my PvE server (transferred when my guild was dormant to raid with this current guild) that have Warmode on, and love being able to choose when they want to risk wPvP and when they don’t want to be bothered with it. That is the funny thing about perspective. That is also why perspective can oft times be misleading. Blizzard has cold hard evidence. That contradicts your opinions.

Don’t let a simple quest deter you from playing. Go out, and kill your 25 Horde. Kill your 1000 Horde. Have fun in wPvP. Give it a chance, it might just surprise you at how much fun without a reward it still is.

Restarting the client is only partially fixing this for me. I can now see my communities but I am not able to talk in them. When I type messages they are not propagating into the community chat.

Does it still happen if you also restart your entire system?

Mastadon, I started on Nathrezim. I transferred over to a PVE server as well when Nathrezim on horde died for me. I’ve played both factions over the years, I just find that this whole warmode is bull honestly… Why not go back to the old days when you chose whether or not you wanted to play on a pvp, pve, role play server etc. Blizz has ruined in my personal opinion some of what made this game originally fun for me. I continue to play because it is something my husband and I enjoy doing together. But in essence it took Blizz to place an incentive for Alliance players to turn warmode on to improve the wpvp which should’ve never been an issue to begin with personally speaking until they did away with the choice between pve, pvp servers etc. and introduced warmode.
