Not even go go go, as a Fury Warrior we only have downtime when everything’s dead lol
It’s a “discussion” that’s been around for almost ten years.
Take a hint.
They don’t need separate servers to do this. If this is the way you want to play the game, the game already allows you to completely ignore group finder. For the most I do. I do more dungeons and raid content each expansion with my friends and guilds than I ever do using that group finder. And I don’t even mind group finder.
It’s funny cause the servers with no group finder would probably be ghost towns.
Ever heard of the phrase “give and inch and they’ll take a mile”? That’s what’s happening now that Blizz has changed their minds on classic servers.
This is also your OPINION, and a very unpopular one. You have classic on the way, wait for it and play.
Leave RETAIL alone, we do not need to go backwards with respects to Qing system. If anything we need our classes fixed. The biggest killer for me in BfA is the GCD!
So if you do listen Blizz, get rid of the GCD, and yes this is MY “opinion”.
Said “discussion” was dominated by anti vanilla trolls backed by an out of touch corporation and a badly designed forum interface that rewarded dogpiling and silenced dissenting opinions with downvotes.
And what’s even worse these guys don’t even know what they are really asking for because classic isn’t even released. Most of their information is from streamers.
The problem here is that the OP is getting exactly what he wants, but it’s in Classic, which is less than 100 days away. This thread is pointless.
LFD/LFG/LFR is 100% optional on live. Don’t like it? Don’t use.
And? People can just come back to the regular servers then.
And anyone who says to remove LFR can just be told to go play on the non LFR servers.
Win win all around.
I remember seeing 20 curses go out on the raid when there were only 8 healers with an 8 second CD for our dispels and just laughing at how unbalanced that was.
That’s not relevant to the actuality of why Classic has returned.
And you’ll have that community. In Classic. If you want something like that community in retail, queue systems for groups are not your villain.
Go play classic OP, leave retail alone please.
This is why advocating the removal of features like LFD will never be a fruitful discussion. We need to stop asking for these things to be removed, and instead start advocating for the very thing that Blizzard themselves offered to the community: Pristine Realms.
That way people that like LFD get to keep it, and those of us who don’t can play on a separate server that has the feature set we prefer.
Or, and I know this might sound crazy but stay with me, you could NOT use LFD/LFG/LFR on retail.
It doesn’t sound crazy, but it does indicate that you don’t understand the impact those features have on a server’s community.
And this is the players fault how, exactly? Why should paying customers be expected to put up with that sort of design?
You know what, I’ve changed my mind. I don’t like them wasting valuable server resources on old content at all. The game should just be 2 capital cities and the most recent expac zone. After the expac is over then the zone and content simply disappears. I love to play the same 4 raids over again while an expac is current, but as soon as a new one is released the idea of being able to go back to them? Well that’s just revolting. Also all new characters should start 10 levels prior to cap so they don’t have to bother with that yucky old content. I also think they should remove old transmog gear. No reason. Just because. Something about money. I like my sub fees funding Overwatch. /s
That’s not the full story at all. Removing LFG and forcing people to use chat channels would go a very long way in recreating a community… That said you also have to make sure servers are healthy, something blizzard has not done since CRZ.
I think you are highly underestimating the damage these tools do to the community. You see as simple as playing the classic beta how quickly people reconnect to the community the moment they are forced to. The fix isnt near as hard as you imagine. The problem is blizzard willing to take such a risk, would require readjusting server health on the whole.
Quite a few people don’t use it.
… usually because of the attitude that you’re displaying right now.
Because most people want new shiny things. They don’t want to keep drudging through content that’s over 10 years old.
Now you’re just pouting. The content still exists and can still be seen. You’re free to go look at all of those old pixels to your heart’s desire.
