I have many things that have been removed, and I’d be ok with them bringing them back. Because other players getting them doesn’t diminish me getting them.
Sharing was taught like what? Kindergarten? Some yall need to learn it still I see.
In the case of Tyreal’s Charger, it was always a reward for spending money as the OP linked. You had to agree to pay your sub for a year to get and keep the rewards. All it meant was that someone was financially stable enough to do that at the time. It was not an achievement for anything gameplay related.
I have it. Have had it since 2011 when it came out. However, I don’t personally have any issues with others getting a chance to buy it.
I mean it being available again or not has no bearing to me whatsoever.
That said, the first link says for a limited time only, 12 month sub gives the charger, which is true, it was only on the 12 month sub for a limited time.
The second link says it is “currently” unobtainable, not that it will never be again.
I guess we just have fundamental differences in philosophy. I like when people have cool unique things. I personally think when everyone has everything, no one is unique, and its boring, suddenly the only accomplishments are related to clearing mythic raids or getting glad, both of which can be bought with gold anyways.
Technically it was. You played the game for 12 months and your achievement was a mount. Hah. That and it also shows more of a veteran status. People can think of that what they will.
Cash grab as much as possible because they’re out of ideas and why not bring back promotional item a decade for all these “missing out people” and they can tell tales to their friends they were here a decade ago
For a limited time only, players who make a 12-month subscription commitment to World of Warcraft through the WoW Annual Pass will receive the following epic rewards:
This seems to be the Deal (getting X rewards for getting the Annual Pass) was a limited time, and not the rewards themselves. It did mention “exclusive”, but “Exclusive WoW Mount”, which could have meant that it was “exclusive to WoW only” and not also a Diablo III mount. However, I don’t feel that’s how a lot of people would/did read that.
I did the Annual Pass. I have the mount and still use it on several of my character. I honestly have no issues with this coming back after I have had a decade to use it. Why? Cause, yeah it will be everywhere for the next 2 or 3 days, and then you will barely see it again. Just like every other store mount.
I do, however, agree with Tovi in that Blizzard seems to be bringing back a lot of “exclusive” and “limited time” pets and mounts (that Blizzard insinuated as not being obtainable after the means /events was closed) makes this type of “deal” in the future seem to hold less weight (more so than before). I mean the Feldrake (Oct 2012) and the Annual Pass (Oct 2011) were from things over a decade ago. So there’s still the concern of is the wait a decade for it or a few months. Either way it has made these type of promotion a bit more “scammy” feeling and hope Blizzard finds a new form/style of promotion.
However, it does bring some hope to other things. If they are returning these in another manner of access, could they bring back armor (mogs) that were removed in like Cata? What about recipes that have long since been lost to time (looking at you Enchanted Thorium armor)? I do wish they made it that those who had these mounts/pets/items from the original means got a FoS achievement for it like we do for CE and Blizzcon.
Regardless of what we think it seems Blizzard doesn’t think much of them either, and the game has always been flaky on what is or isn’t supposed to be time limited rewards.
As I said in another thread: I ride around on my ZG raptor people can buy off the BMAH, using my Knight-Lieutenant title that people can get from rated BGs, wearing armour that people can get from 1 shotting old raid bosses.
People don’t seem to care about old stuff coming back until it’s something they had.
I really don’t care about promotional mounts, dunno why you would get them just because of limited time. If you like the mount get it, if you don’t then just don’t get it.
