Grats to everyone on their Tyrael's Charger. However

It was stated at Blizzcon 2011’s Opening Ceremony, by the CEO, that it was “exclusive”.

Was also mentioned in other advertising about it being an “exclusive WoW Mount”.

That looks pretty clear to me.

Exclusive WoW mount means it’s exclusive to WoW. It’s literally a Diablo III campaign - it means it’s not in Diablo.

This might come as a shock, but exclusive means different things depending on context.

At Blizzcon he said “Exclusive in-game Mount”. Nothing about it being a WoW mount or WoW only. Just an “Exclusive in-game mount”. Either way the wording on this is shady and they clearly were insinuating something that they are not holding true to.

I will agree to that.

But “Exclusive in-game mount” also doesn’t strictly mean exclusive to this promotion.

This is why lawyer jargon is not fun.

(For the record, this is from someone who doesn’t have nor wants Tyrael’s Charger. It’s an ugly mount lol)

Completely. Guess Blizzard didn’t want a Pepsi Harrier Jet issue on their hands, cause you know there would be one person wanting the charger IRL.

Taking some pretty blatant liberties with this interpretation aren’t you.

Right, and you’re selectively using an inapplicable context to support a weak argument. Guess that gold text didn’t come for no reason.

I’m glad Blizzard is bringing back limited items. I hope they transfer this mindset to other limited items in the game too.

Same with me Tovi …that wore Limited means only for a short time and then its gone but we know how blizzard is now…they had said the same thing about that one RAF mount the zebra one …was suppose to be limited time only though RAF then gone …well it went gone but came back few years later with a very minor change to it that is how they got around that promo now…you know for fact they had the lawyers go over Charger promo to make sure they were not breaking any rules …just wonder if the EU side is getting it too…cause they run under a different set of rules with promo’s like this.

But it wasn’t a limited time item. The WoW Annual Pass for Diablo III was the limited aspect. The Charger was an “exclusive” item. To what that “exclusion” was, is really anyone’s guess at this point in time, but the CEO made it seem like it was exclusive to the WoW Annual Pass.

I have the mount from 2011. I did my 12 months. I have absolutely no issue with it being rereleased. The issue I have is the shady practice of them insinuating something that is not true to get people to sign up for their deals. And, yes, lots of businesses do this, but I really think we need to hold Blizzard to a higher standard and not just let shady practices slide just cause “other businesses do it”.

  1. They should have done another WoW Annual Pass instead of just a shop mount, and then they would have been good with all their wording from back in 2011.

  2. Gave some kind of FOS to players who got it back in 2011 like they do for getting CE or Blizzcon.

Imagine not understanding how promotions work and trying to move goalposts.

They should. Because their advertising literally said “limited time only.”

As do many other things. Because it’s only for a limited time— right now. That doesn’t cover the future.

For now. There is zero mention of the future.

There really is no rules.

Yes, it’s exclusive to wow. Hence the wow mount, not exclusive for a limited time. The mount is exclusive to the game of world of warcraft. Lawyered.

Thanks… that is one from my old account that I’m glad I can now get back… I don’t have a lot of regrets in life but losing some of my stuff after having my hissy fit about flying in WoD is one of them.

That is how these promotions work. It is always shady and vague wordings so they don’t get sued for bring back limited time items. This is why the wordings are always vague so they can use it again later on and not go “no, we didn’t actually mean that”.

It’s all lawyer jargon

Doesn’t make it right, or appropriate. “I can do it, therefore I am” is void of moralism.

I respect your opinion but I am honestly too tired to read that

“for a limited time only, those who make a 12-month subscription” it’s referring to the limited run of the 12-month sub promotion rewards. Technically every other sub reward was a limited time only promotion.

yea homie its giga sus. felt the same way about the helms but forums be foruming.
i wont be buying anything from the shop anymore.

Except most people want ugly pixels because they are rare. Then they get it, see everyone else on it, lose interest and never use the ugly thing again- and successfully ruined the value for the few who had it
