It’s not about the requirement as much as the unique novelty of the item and time (2011).
I’m guessing they plan on phasing out regular flying mounts, so want to bank on these as much as they can while they can.

That comment was aimed more at the playerbase as a whole and not you specifically.
I’ve seen plenty of stuff I had that was since removed from the game added back to the game through something like the BMAH.
I was lucky enough to get both ZG mounts before Cata.
To be fair I’d say that a dungeon being removed entirely is reason to believe that it’s not coming back.
Or rather, it was until the BMAH was created.
Of course I still have a handful of items from vanilla that can’t be obtained anymore, and I don’t think they’ll be selling them in the store any time soon. Half of them would be really weird if they did.

It took no skill to do. And thus it doesn’t matter.

I do realize it is a bit far fetched to think someone would not log in at all during that time. But the point I was trying to make is that the mount was always a reward for $$ spent, not something a person achieved in game like PvP rating or Challenge modes.
I have it, and have had it for more than 10 years not. I don’t feel remotely unhappy that others can now spend money on a promotional mount until Jan 2nd, 2023, or that it very well might show up on the Trading Post.
I hope to see a lot more things on the Trading Post. Celestial amour https://us.shop.battle.net/en-us/product/world-of-warcraft-celestial-observers-ensemble?p=250981 and Sunwarmed Feline come to mind. I really really really really want the cat mount.
Fixed income means I have other priorities for my actual money first before pixels though 
I love the idea that maybe they will show up on the Trading Post.

My only gripe is that it should have a slight variation to the original. That way everyone can be happy, in a sense.

my theory is that blizzard is scrounging for profit. all kinds of promotional stuff to try and get people to buy dragonflight and now here is a quick! break the glass and get the whales to spend stuff to get an “exclusive” mount!
