Grats blizz personal loot working as intended

Right but without that, a 10 item level upgrade should always be an upgrade no?
I think a lot of people fall into the mistake of caring zero for stamina and that makes it seem like these slots are different than they are.
But the gem is a bit of a pain atm as the gear has so few stats on it the gem adds like 25 percent more to the item.

Don’t you mean “titanforge farming”?

Same difference … M+ is the easiest source of endless titanforges if you REALLY want to grind it out.

Removing ML didn’t “fix” overgearing raids like the guy I’m replying to is insisting because M+ and titanforging exist.

No. Secondary stats and chosen character builds should be more important 10 ilvl on a single item.

Place RNG meme here…

One of the biggest issues with gearing right now. The secondary stat squish (haste especially) has people only caring about main stat because the secondary stat budgets are so lean its not worth. ilvl is king by default making things even more cookie cutter.

Oh so we agree that ilvl is king. Cool!

Agreed. World first lasted just over one lockout. Titanforging turned gearing into the lottery instead of hunting.

what are u talking about man, method cleared it with an overall raid ilvl of 374, with limit having the lowes ilvl overall at 371 (they chose to not reclear and used the prior weeks saved instance) and a few other guilds clearing with ilvl 1 or 2 levels below method, but since then, all other mythic clears have been going up in average raid ilvl. as a side note, what ilvl do you think mythic uldir was tuned around? because 374 is not even close to out gearing the content seeing as how blizzard had to nerf some fights because they were way to overtuned and required much higher ilvl to have the dps to meet them

We do. I just happen to think that ilvl being king is a bad thing and titanforging actually limits build diversity.

I can understand your position for sure!

1 post a day… Out of the THOUSANDS of guilds that run every week, your claim of this is too much is 1 post a day… Are you joking?

If you want actual data. Mr Robot’s team put together a survey of 2600ish players. That’s the best source of data we have on these systems aside from w/e bliz has (if anything).

In that data around 90% of all mythic raiders used ML and 75% of all mythic raiders LIKED it. That means this change was satisfying at most 15% of the mythic player base.

I think the better question is… Why did that 15% of players continue to subject themselves to a system they did not like.

Using that data, this is literally the definition of fixing something that is not broken.

Edit for source: ~http://blog.askmrrobot.com/personal-vs-master-loot-bfa/

In a perfect world yes it should be, but secondary stats are a thing. We currently exist in a game state where secondary stats provide more DPS then a primary stat which goes up with ilvl increases. I have a case right now of a 370 ring is a DPS loss over my 340 ring because it lacks haste.

This is a big problem with gearing right now on top of titan, and war forging, because as you pointed out, if you happen to get a socket on a rink or something, good luck getting rid of it for a while.

Best way blizzard could fix this problem is to add back in reforging.

Lets be honest, PL has nothing to do with fairness, and everything to do with slowing down progression and keeping that carrot on the stick. The fact that you can’t trade freely and there are rules restricting trading items in PL that forces you to keep items you don’t need but others do, spells this out pretty clearly. Even in a Q&A Ion admitted that it was implemented to slow down guilds that can do split runs to keep them from gearing too fast.

The comparison was well made because the rogue got a piece of gear that is worthless to him, the same way a priest would get a plate piece and go what am i supposed to do with this 395 plate chest? Thank you for telling me I know it, It was unnecessary to bring that up because I made the comment in question, so I did in fact know what I was saying. Respectfully, do you?

My suggestion to fix all of this is really simple. Bring back master loot. There was nothing wrong with it. If you were in a guild where trials or others were not having loot distributed fairly, its not a problem with master loot, its a problem with dumpster fire guilds that you shouldn’t be in.

Yeah, I’m sorry, but the warforged i-level 390 ring that dropped for me that was vers/haste IS NOT an upgrade regardless the little bit of extra stamina that was on it. I wanted to trade it to someone who would have loved it, but I couldn’t because my next highest ring was 385.

Instead I’m still wearing two mastery/crit rings at i-level 370 and 375 respectively. Because they are better than garbage stats and a bit more stamina.

Bingo.

I don’t mind personal loot dropping for the individual player. It’s the tradability I’m having issues with. If it dropped for me then I should be able to determine whether I want to keep it or give it to someone else based on my personal needs and decisions. I shouldn’t be locked into a piece because of ilevel if it’s not an upgrade for me. It prevents me from helping guildies who could use the item more.

Because it slowed down character progression, thats the only reason. People who say it was added to fix ninja looter are blind. Blizzard had 14 years to fix that problem, and you are going to say, that now, out of the kindness of their heart, after 14 years, they all of sudden said, “Hey, lets just randomly change this.”

It’s best to think of rings differently. The loot system doesn’t, but the player should. I tried to make that clear in my first post here. Sorry if it wasn’t.

Rings are an example, this problem happens on all items, I have the same issue with my belt and with my gloves.

Because of how important secondary stats have become, i and several peole in our raiding group are now stuck in limbo of doing the same mythic+ over and over and over again to get the exact same item i have now, but at a higher ilvl. That right there is fundamentally flawed.

Reforging would absolutely help with this problem. Consistency with gem sockets would help this problem as well. Players need a way to help tailor new gear they get to the stats they need.

In 14 years, hands down this exp is the hardest its ever been for me to equip a new item. want to know the easiest? BC and Wrath.

FYI, watch the Q and A here: ~http://blog.askmrrobot.com/personal-vs-master-loot-bfa/

They flat out say that the change was NOT made to curb split runs. So no… You’re in fact wrong.

It was this Q and A that started the whole is the loot the teams or the players. As to that… no one person kills a boss… These bosses require consistent teams to kill.

Granted i will admit some of this problem is due to the itemization of Uldir. Which it is the first raid so ill take that with a grain of salt.
