Insults have always been considered offensive.

perhaps it’s a cultural thing.
…because i was totally unaware that “snowflake” was an insult.

How do you know what your trust lvl is?

Pretty sure I’m perpetually trapped at TL2 because someone has it in for me.

What is trust level and can I have some?

Easier way go to the forums main page and if you can see Lounge section below Community you have trust level 3.

I’ve been trying to get to Trust 3 for a long time but I am still at level 2 :frowning: maybe one day

People who toss around the term “snowflake” or “special (speshul) snowflake” want it to be considered an insult. Given that, they’ve no right to complain when it’s treated as such.

What do you think it meant ?

Snowflake

A term for someone that thinks they are unique and special, but really are not. It gained popularity after the movie “Fight Club” from the quote “You are not special. You’re not a beautiful and unique snowflake. You’re the same decaying organic matter as everything else."

Began being used extensively as a putdown for someone, usually on the political left, who is easily offended or felt they needed a “safe space” away from the harsh realities of the world, but now has morphed into a general putdown for anyone that complains about any subject.

Hmm, that definition seems a bit incomplete and inaccurate.

Because that term is evolving in definition. In any definition, I have seen though, when you call someone that it is an insult.

I’ve seen it used often times against people who try to defend “keeping some things rare” by those who want certain items made available once again.

The first definition kind of applies to it but not fully.

Also, jeez, the other definitions they have are horrid.

That definition I quoted says that it has ‘morphed into a general putdown for anyone that complains about any subject’. That covers a whole lot.

as far as i was aware, it stopped here:

…but it was a term used long before Fight Club.

I must say, I was completely unaware of the “new age” meaning of the word.

I think I’m going to go choose a few words, create new meanings for them, add them to Urban Dictionary, and then wait for someone to use the words so I can be offended :rabbit:

OMG!! what if I start with the word “offended”?
…some possible new definitions: “big warm hug” or “laughing on the inside” or “confused”!!

Here is hoping a swift and lofty return to your giffing privlages.

Character transfers do interesting things. Think this still shows me in an Alliance guild before I transferred back lol

Even that one line you quoted is a put down. It isn’t just a US thing because when I googled that definition there was information from the UK as well.

How long before Trust is account wide rather than based on character name-server. Helpful people in this thread have helped me attain it again by making another character of the same name on my previous server but I would much rather be posting on my main that this alt.
