As others have said - a name change or transfer seems to delete the old profile on the forums and create a new one - which resets the trust level. Several threads discussing this since the new forums launched, with lots of others players confirming it seems to be the case.
How many posts before you earn this “trust?”
Seems like a really good system.
You can see the criteria for the trust levels here:
I’m assuming it’s still accurate.
IMOtrust level should be attached to the Battle.net tag ID and not one individual toon. It makes no sense to do it otherwise.
oh please, don’t play dumb.
What is this Trust Level of which you speak?
Same thing happened to me.
I transferred this toon, same name, from Whisperwind to Lothar. No faction change, just a server transfer. All my posting history was gone and I had to start over.
Things are only considered an “insult” if they are looked into. They are only looked into if they are “flagged” enough.
I got a 24 hour vaca for stating that I thought a comment made was idiotic. I was told I “harassed” someone. I didn’t insult a person, nor did I continue to “harass” anyone (I didn’t harass anyone period).
In the exact same thread a video entitled “the ultimate insult”, which said exactly the same thing I said (your statement is idiotic) in a much more insulting way than a simple “that is an idiotic statement” comment and it’s still sitting in the thread in question.
If the forums were moderated in a way that removed all insulting things said, and if the “punishments” were warranted and actually looked into by moderators that used the same standards for all posts and not just “multiple flagged” posts I would say you’re right.
The way things are done in these parts in reality makes me have to say you’re wrong.
A poster who does nothing wrong other than type “LOLOL” can have their “trust level” taken because another poster gets a couple of friends to flag a post that said nor did anything against any rule. The moderators do what they want and they do not look into anything nor do they use set standards for all posts, flagged or not.
Thanks for the info. I’m trust level 2. Those two temp forum bans hurt.
Doing a modified battlenet id like they do on the other forums would fix so many problems, I have absolutely no idea why they ever went the way they did on this forum.
It’s not their software. So any modifications have to be done as requests to the developers of the software. They’ve got some requests in from what they’ve said. The ability to ignore a poster is one of them.
They would have had to put in a request for the characters to be separate though on this forum since all their other forums use battlenet id.
You have to question a peocess that rewards gaming the system. There have been countless threads created for the sole intent of allowing the posters to like each other’s posts over and over to gin up the necessary numbers to meet the likes and give likes requirement
It’s also how you see some of those monster threads where people just use their mouse scroll (instructions are actually in this thread) to rack up the massive number of post views required to meet that number
Basically, you can easily fake it to level 3 as long as you don’t have people flag your posts as offensive.
I may get a bunch of flags or a suspension just from pointing out the hypocrisy of these practices.
hahaha. I got one for quoting a line out of a Austin Powers movie in a kul tiran thread not long after they started this new forum lol. Funny how a movie line from a pg13 movie can get you a ban lol. Oh well there is always facebook, or other social media out there to get that meme, gif fix lol. It is also funny how the wow facebook page removed the gif button also lol. Blizz is talking their lab rat social experiment to extremes now lol.
Am I the only one who is going “literally what?”.
Even on your last day you were helping others. I wish the best for you dude.
now… that is an insult.
Just because I don’t keep myself up to date with the ever-growing list of words which the “cool kids” are attempting to redefine, doesn’t mean I’m playing dumb.
In fact, not only am I not “playing dumb”, I actually admitted that I learned something… so wouldn’t that be the exact opposite of “being dumb”?
If I was being dumb, I’d continue to argue the point that I was right, and everyone else was wrong.
I’m not from the UK.
I see they’ve added it to the Oxford Dictionary… one year ago.
I don’t read all dictionaries annually.
There’s a sticky at the top of the forum that explains trust levels.
