This kinda thing has been around since the sparkle pony was released, which I quickly bought and love still. It’s just a game item, if there are people who bring it up to you then it’s their problem and not something you should concern yourself with.
If your friend quit because of this, then I think your friend is a bit soft for a MMO. There will always be people that do this, it was around before this armor transmog, will be around long after. It is a problem, but it’s impossible to police millions of players on a virtual game.
Those who think that farming ingame gold to buy stuff from the ingame shop are though?
If they aren’t playing WoW, then what else are they doing? Playing fortnite instead? Complaining about it on the forums? The world may never know.
I mean let’s not kid ourselves here. In the past your sub didn’t get bundled with cosmetics, now they do. You get more than you used to, which is how a company in a free market adapts to remain competative.
You’re advocating that they don’t do that because it’s morally wrong.
Like bundling a cosmetic reward with your sub is somehow on par with what they do in AFK Arena where you pay BOATLOADS for the express purpose of not having to play the game.
These cosmetic “rewards” stay on the shop behind a 20 dollar paywall.
So don’t buy them.

This was about 10 minutes ago. It… isn’t fun. People say “oh wow, you really just need to be more immune to these threats/insults/etc whatever”, when really, it would be nice if the game were just moderated.
